Reminder: Stage 2 Water Restrictions, set by Metro Vancouver, are in effect for the entire region, including Port Coquitlam. With snowpack at half of normal levels and hot weather in the long-range forecast, we need to save our clean water for where we need it most — drinking, cooking, and cleaning.

Know the current restrictions:

🚫 Lawn watering: Not allowed
🚫 Pressure washing: Not allowed (unless for health or safety reasons, for the purpose of preparing a surface for painting or similar treatment, or completed by a hired commercial cleaner)
🚫 Topping up decorative water features: Not allowed
🟡 Watering trees, shrubs, and flowers: Sprinkler watering is allowed during set times (5am-9am for residents, 4am-9am for businesses), and manual watering is allowed anytime (must use a hose with a shut-off device, soaker hose, water container, or drip irrigation)
🟢 Watering vegetable gardens: Allowed anytime
🟢 Washing cars and boats: Allowed (Must use hand-held hose with shut-off nozzle)
🟢 Pools & hot tubs: Allowed

Metro Vancouver may activate Stage 3 water restrictions in early June. We will keep you updated.

Have questions? Check out our FAQs at portcoquitlam.ca/wateritright. Thank you for doing your part to conserve water.

For Mental Health Awareness Week, our team headed out for Walk a Mile.

It was a chance to step away from the screens, get some fresh air, and just be present with one another.

We often talk about "ending the stigma," but what does that actually look like? To us, it's showing up, lacing up, and walking side-by-side to prove that no one in our community should have to face their mental health journey alone.

There’s something powerful about moving forward together. It reminds us that even when the road feels steep, we don’t have to climb it by ourselves.

🌿 A gentle reminder: If things are feeling heavy right now, please don't carry it all on your own. Reach out to a local professional or a mental health helpline. There is absolutely no shame in asking for a hand.

Let’s keep looking out for each other. One step at a time. ❣

Sometimes the simplest tasks for us make the biggest difference for someone else.

SHARE Family and Community Services is looking for Grocery Shopper volunteers to help seniors in our Tri-Cities community stay independent and well stocked.

This isn't about running through aisles yourself; it’s about connection. You’ll be chatting with local seniors (65+) to take their grocery lists and help them place those orders online with local stores.

If you have a little extra time and a heart for helping our neighbors in Coquitlam, Port Moody, Port Coquitlam, Anmore, or Belcarra, we’d love to have you on board.

Support seniors by managing their online grocery orders. Must be 21+ years old.

Helping a neighbor maintain their independence is a pretty great way to spend an afternoon.

What does it mean to truly show up for others? Our volunteers know!

This week, we had the joy of gathering together to celebrate the incredible people who give their time, their presence, and their hearts, and we couldn't think of a better place to do it than with the wonderful community at Foyer Maillard Care Centre in Coquitlam.

They opened their doors and treated our volunteers to a beautiful lunch, and the warmth in that room was something special.

To every volunteer who was there, and to every one of you who shows up day after day, thank you! Not for the tasks you complete, but for the way you make people feel seen, valued, and less alone.

That's not something that can be measured, but it is something that stays with people long after you've gone. ❤

And to our friends at Foyer Maillard, thank you for your generosity and for reminding us what community looks like in action.

On vous est reconnaissants. Merci!

» - Yewande I.

Merci à Yewande de contribuer à renforcer les liens, l'esprit communautaire et le sentiment d'appartenance !
