***Donation / Sponsorship Alert ***

On Friday, Club Treasurer, Colin Pilgrim, and Club President Cory Sheppard dropped by the 2026 NL Summer Games at the Corner Brook Civic Center to make a $1000 Ambassador Sponsorship for the upcoming Summer Games in August. Accepting the cheque is Games Manager, Cassidy Mercer. The Games committee are still looking for volunteers for various duties throughout the games, as well if you or anyone you know may have participated in the first Summer games of 1976, or any other games, please reach out to them with any photos you may have. They would love to be able to use them during the games.

Next, both members dropped by the Corner Brook Public Library to present Brittany Noseworthy , Library Supervisor, with a $500 donation to be used towards their upcoming 2026 TD Summer Reading Club.

Last year, the Corner Brook Public Library registered over 90 children and we hope for even more participants this summer! We would greatly appreciate any support you can provide for this year’s TDSRC. Prizes and incentives help libraries motivate children to read over the summer months and celebrate their success as readers. Gift certificates, small items, or merchandise will serve as encouragement and rewards for children. Monetary donations go towards the weekly programming activities or special events, ensuring our young readers have a memorable summer reading experience.

Today in Corner Brook, The local community Hub for MS Society held their annual walk, and our club was more than happy to help out once again with not only donating the hamburgers and hotdogs for all participants of the walk, but we were happy to present them with a $1000 cheque donation as well.

From left to right: Jennifer Targett, Tina Skinner, Melissa Brake, Nicole McCarthy & Amanda Randell all from the MS Canada Corner Brook Community Hub Committee, and joined by Kin Cory Sheppard, Lm Dwight Hatcher, Kin Jason Tarbett, Kin Jason Ledrew, LM Mike Hoffe, and LM Brian Leslie.

MS community groups like these ladies that do what they do, their fundraising support helps fund groundbreaking MS research and provides essential programs and services that improve the lives of Canadians affected by multiple sclerosis. No one can imagine what you are going through, but seeing what you do, is remarkable. Keep up the good fight. Here's to finding a cure.

We would also like to thank Lifeline Safety for donating their BBQ for us to use as well as West Valley Bakery for donating the buns. Thank you so very much
