The talented students of the Ridna Shkola - Saturday Ukrainian School- are preparing a very special performance for our market visitors!

Our young performers have been working hard to share a piece of Ukrainian culture, creativity, and spirit with the community. Their performance promises to bring smiles, pride, and unforgettable moments for everyone attending.

Dolya Summer Day Camp registration is open to all newcomers in the Corner Brook area! Ages 6 - 12. There is no registration fee. 10 spots available.

There will be weekly swimming, excursions, recreational activates, with Ukrainian focused games and activities that everyone can participate in!

Must be a newcomer to Canada and live in the Corner Brook area. Daily transportation is available. Camp registration is on a first come, first served basis. Everything is included except for lunches.

Meet Maria Zawaski - one of the talented vendors at the First Ukrainian Market on Western NL 💙💛

Maria is a multidisciplinary artist who creates unique bohemian-style jewelry using crocheting, knitting, embroidery, and beadwork. Every piece reflects creativity, craftsmanship, and a love for handmade art ✨

Originally from Ukraine, Maria has called Newfoundland home since 2010. She began making jewelry in 2014 as a way to cope with the stress and uncertainty caused by the war in her homeland. What started as a personal form of healing soon became a creative passion.

Today, Maria is sharing those same creative skills with newcomers from Ukraine. She has already hosted jewelry-making workshops for Ukrainian children and their mothers, helping them connect, create, and find comfort through art.

At the First Ukrainian Market, you will not only find Maria’s beautiful handmade jewelry, but also some earrings and accessories created by her young Ukrainian students - a wonderful example of creativity, resilience, and community support 🇺🇦
