Our members and families will be honouring fallen Island EMS paramedics Mike MacKenzie and Jenna Croucher as they make their way home this afternoon. The procession will be making its way through Main Street at approximately 4:15. We will have many personal and emergency vehicles set up near Town hall and the RCMP building.
Please slow down, pay attention and be patient as we all navigate through this.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we bring them home.

We encourage everyone who is able to attend and stand alongside our first responders, their families, friends, and colleagues as we honour these two heroes.

Every day, first responders answer the call to help their neighbours during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Today, our community has the opportunity to show up for them.

Please join us in paying your respects to Mike and Jenna and showing support for the entire first responder community.

This past Tuesday, NRFD members returned to Griffin's Service Centre & 24 Hour Auto Rescue to build on our April extrication training.
Members worked through realistic extrication scenarios, putting previously learned skills to the test while continuing to strengthen techniques that help us operate safely and effectively on scene.
Thank you again to Chris Griffin for the continued support and for providing the space and resources to make this valuable training possible.

🔥 Home Ignition Zone 🔥
Keep a 5-foot zone around your home that is free of vegetation and mulch. Stone or gravel are better options.

Tuesday night, NRFD members completed extrication training at Griffin's Service Centre & 24 Hour Auto Rescue .

Regular refresher training like this keeps our skills sharp and leads to quick, effective extrications on real calls, getting patients out safely and into the hands of paramedics as soon as possible so they can receive the care they need.

A big thank you to Chris Griffin for providing the vehicles and space to train. Your support helps us better serve our community.
