⚠️NOTICE OF TRAFFIC IMPACTS⚠️

📍 Island Highway South (19A) between Royston Road and Trent River Bridge.
📅 Friday October 9, and Tuesday October 13 to Friday October 16
🕛 Work will take place between 9 am and 3 pm

🚧Impacts:

Please expect short delays during this time as space constraints may require single lane alternating traffic. Traffic control will be on site to maintain traffic flow and protect the work zone. Please drive carefully and obey all traffic control personnel while this work is underway.

Please note there is no anticipated impacts to the road surface as work will consist of conducting subsurface investigations in the gravel shoulder as part of the Sewer Extension South Project. Visit engagecomoxvalley.ca/sewerextension to learn more about this project.

This year, the Comox Valley Regional District advanced its Coastal Flood Adaptation Strategy with the completion of the K’ómoks Estuary North Area Flood Resilience Strategy.

Developed in partnership with K’ómoks First Nation, local governments, and other community partners, this strategy presented a collaborative, practical framework to support long-term flood resilience across the estuary, with ten key recommended actions to guide next steps. To capture the story of this collaboration, K’ómoks artist Pamela Mitchell created an art piece as part of the project.

In recognition of this collaborative work, the project recently won the Climate & Energy Action Award from the Community Energy Association at the annual Union of BC Municipalities convention in Vancouver.
