Join us in Downtown Courtenay for a fun summer send off!

The DCBIA is working with Fresh Air Cinema (Fresh Air Cinema - Outdoor Movies BC) to provide a free, family friendly movie night on Duncan Avenue. We will be closing the street between 5th and 6th Street to bring in a 40 foot inflatable screen! We ask guests to bring their own seating – yoga mats to bean bags, camp chairs to pillows, whatever will make it more comfortable for you and yours to enjoy the show.

The showing of Puss in Boots: The Last Wish begins at dusk (approximately 8:00pm). We invite you to enjoy a day of shopping and exploration downtown, visit a restaurant or cafe for a bite to eat, then begin to gather on Duncan Avenue and find seating approximately 1 hour before showtime.

We will have Dirty Dogs on site for hotdogs, popcorn, drinks and more!

Whether you're driving, walking, cycling, rolling or taking the bus, we all have a role in helping students travel safely. Drivers have the greatest responsibility to watch for vulnerable road users and be prepared for the unexpected.

Help create a safer trip to school:
✅ Slow down and follow posted speed limits
✅ Watch for students at crosswalks and intersections
✅ Stay focused and avoid distractions
✅ Leave extra space when passing people walking or cycling
✅ Be patient during busy school drop-off and pick-up times

When your baby isn't feeling well, it can be stressful. This class will help you recognize common childhood illnesses, safely manage fevers, know when to seek medical care, and comfort your little one with confidence using trusted, evidence-based information from Baby's Best Chance.

These free online classes are designed to give you practical, reliable information so you can feel more confident in caring for yourself and your baby.
