The culture of RUSH is ruining dating.

💔 If the first date isn't perfect. NEXT.
💔 If butterflies aren't there. NEXT.
💔 If they didn't reply fast enough. NEXT.

I think enough is enough. Can we just slow down please?!

Dates don't have to be over the top, you don't have to feel insane chemistry. Dates are meant to give you time with another person in order to see more sides to them.

Butterflies are overrated. They're usually a sign that your nervous system is triggered and not in a good way. So instead of rushing past a first date because you had an expectation of euphoria, remember the person that didn't bring you butterflies might actually be bringing you something better. Peace.

👩‍❤️‍👨 Rushing through the dating experience is making us pass on someone that could be meaningful. We're too busy focusing on the hope of instant satisfaction that we're missing the sweet moments.

Here's three things that the professionals say will help with the too-fast dating we've gotten used to:

👉 Stop the swiping.
Between social media and dating apps, the human mind is being warped. We're looking for quick experiences, easy dopamine and endless choices. That's just not healthy! Let's stop swiping, stop scrolling and intentionally focus on one connection at a time, giving it time to steep like a good cuppa.

👉 Have fun!
Instead of thinking of a first date as an interview or a moment for a decisive decision, go have fun! Nerves can make you (and them) act differently, feelings of safety and relaxation takes time, attraction can grow. Have fun and SLOW DOWN.

👉 Real-Life Experiences
Meeting people in-person helps us remember how to connect with strangers. They're ways for you to surround yourself with other singles in a low pressure setting, sharing laughs, seeing how everyone interacts with each other and bringing down the stress levels.

Speed Dating is my FAVORITE type of event!

💓 It's a TON of fun, it's full of energy, it's an efficient way to invest in your dating, it's a great night out of your regular routine!

📅 Register now for our speed dating event at Painters Lodge in Campbell River. Monday, May 25th, we will be gathering a big group of singles together in the pub at 6pm. We will direct you through speed dating, provide question prompts in case you need them, note cards so you can keep notes on each date and WE will take care of the mutual matches.

⭐ You'll have 10-15 seven minute dates, quickly feeling out the chemistry and then moving on to the next date. You won't exchange contact information at this event, instead, you'll write your hopeful matches down for us and if there are MUTUAL matches, we will connect you!
