Coutts Municipal Library MISSED BEING PUT IN THE NEWSLETTER.
Lots of good things going on in the library!

We have had a busy and eventful summer here at the library!
Many came to our events this summer; tie-dye a towel, Chinook Arch’s summer reading programs, and rock painting. Lots of fun was had! We look forward to having more programs to attend in the fall.

There are some new changes regarding internet use here at the library. All children using the internet below the age of 11 MUST have an adult with them to browse the internet. Youth aged 12-15 MUST have a signed permission form by a parent to use the internet. If this is you, or your child, please come in and have one signed as soon as possible.

We now have 3 computers available for use. Coutts Municipal Library entered a draw for 1 of 2 computers and we won! It has been set up and is ready for patrons to search the web on!

Book Club is back! We will have our first meeting on September 10th at 3pm. Bring in your favorite current reads and let us know what you thought of them and enjoy a cup of tea.

Sunburst Schools Football Co-Op

Sunburst Schools is extremely excited to be in a football cooperative with Milk River Ridge School out of Milk River, Alberta, Canada! Students from Sunburst Schools and Milk River Ridge School will be teaming up as Refiners (grades 9-12) and Wildcats (grades 5-8) on the football field this season!

This incredible partnership took some time to develop as it required approval from each school as well as multiple agencies including the Montana High School Association and Sports School Alberta. Athletic Director Jeff Nix from Sunburst and Athletic Director Lara Johannsen from Milk River Ridge worked tirelessly to develop this awesome opportunity for our kids!

Thank you to Mr. Nix, Superintendent Bucklin, Coach Bye, Mrs. Johannsen, Principal Miller, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and the Canadian Border Services Agency for your assistance in bringing this awesome opportunity together for our students.

From our knowledge, this is the only partnership like this that exists in Montana. We do not know whether there are other state/provincial teams across the northern border, but we are incredibly excited about this co-op between our schools for the good of our kids!

Thus, at all future football games, we proudly welcome our neighbors from the north as we hopefully cheer our boys to victory!

Municipal Planning Commission meeting is scheduled for September 3 at 5:30pm in the Civic Centre for 2 development permit applications received:
1) Airbnb application to be located at 307 1 Ave S
2) Permanent Seacan to be located at 306 1 Ave N
Permits can be viewed at the Village Office during regular business hours prior to the meeting.

A Development Permit has been conditionally approved for a 60' x 68' truck storage pole building located at 411 2nd Ave N
Permit can be viewed at the Village Office during regular business hours prior to Sept 3rd with concerns.

Mini Putt Update:
There are now putters and balls as well as a few obstacles have been added to some of the greens. If you have putters to donate, please leave them in the shed.

Parents-Please talk to your kids about vandalism. There have already been a few attempts to cause damage and cameras will be installed.

As a reminder, no pets, or bikes are allowed in the course area.

There has been a lot of money, and volunteer hours put into this amazing project, and we want to see it last. It is a fun activity for the whole family.
