Better at Home is a program that helps seniors with day-to-day tasks so that they can continue to live independently in their own homes and remain connected to their communities. We helps seniors in need with simple day-to-day tasks, so that they can continue to live independently in their own homes and remain connected to community. The program offers non-medical services provided by volunteers:
friendly visits, grocery shopping and delivery, and transportation to and from appointments. We also offer a fee-based, light housekeeping service with subsidies available based on annual household income. Seniors, caretakers, family and friends are welcomed to call for information about a full range of other programs and services that are available locally. Cranbrook seniors can refer themselves or be referred into the program by others (friends and family). A doctor’s referral is NOT required (but is certainly welcomed). Services will be provided by a mix of paid staff, contractors, and volunteers – all of whom will have been through a thorough screening and interview process. Better at Home is funded by the Government of British Columbia, managed by United Way of the Lower Mainland, and delivered in Cranbrook by Community Connections Society of Southeast BC. The program will ultimately be rolled out in up to 68 communities across the province. Contact us today:
