French Immersion at Canyon-Lister Elementary School

Hi everyone- thanks to those who have applied for a spot in the Late French Immersion class for September 2023.

We will be offering a spot to all of the Grade 5 students who applied, and an acceptance letter will be coming out shortly from SD8, as well as a letter from me regarding any next steps for CLES registration/transfer forms needed before March 31st (only if you do not currently attend CLES). This makes a full class for next year!

This year we had more applications than spots available, and were unfortunately unable to offer a space to new applicants in Grades 6 or 7. We did not have enough to make a second class this year, but I hope that each year we continue to grow this program as we have done so far.

As we have completed the registration for this year, I will be signing off this Facebook site until we start up the registration notification process again in November. If you have any questions, please contact the school at 250-428-4161.

Our Late French Immersion program at CLES is a multi-grade Gr 5/6/7 class. Absolute beginners are welcome to apply to join the class, as well as students who already have a foundation in French language.

There will be an information session for parents on January 5th at 6pm where you will hear more about the program, and applications will be accepted after that date. Please note that all applications will need to be received by the deadline stated on the form, which will be before the end of March. Information on how to apply will be provided closer to the date.

Hi everyone! This year's Late French Immersion class has settled in and has come together as a close group with lots of learning happening. We will be sending out information about how to apply for a spot in the program for September 2023 over the next couple of months.
