Lobstick Fire Update: as of 5 p.m., June 1, 2026

• Crews were hot spotting on the northwest division of Callaghan Lake Division with pumps and hoses. Helicopters were bucketing for air support, however, targets are diminishing daily with minimal reported fire behaviour by Operations and aircraft.

• The dozer line from Callaghan Lake to the North Saskatchewan River is 65% complete to the river. Widening of the transmission line has begun with crush clearing and a team of dozers will begin widening in the morning.

• The perimeter areas of the RMs of Leask and Shellbrook are quiet and the majority of hotspots are contained and pose no risk to communities or homes.

• The dozer line on the east flank of the Lily Plain Area is complete to the river while the portion south to Macdowell is 95% complete. The west flank in the Wingard pasture area continues to be quiet with minimal to no hot spots detected.

• Tomorrow, crews plan of scanning the fire boundary by air to detect heat signatures using infrared devices.

• The weather outlook for Tuesday is a forecast of 26 degrees, 50% relative humidity, with winds E/SE at 20-25 km/hr with gusts of 40-50 km/hr. Up to 5mm of precipitation.
