Winter hours are in effect for the Czar location Transfer Site operated by M.D. 52 Waste Management Authority.

September 1 - March 31

Thursday 1 pm - 3 pm
Saturday 10 am -12 pm

Remember, private entry can be available for a fee by contacting the operator who resides in the Village of Czar.

The Czar Library Board September meeting will be held at the Village office at 10 AM this Wednesday, Sept 2nd.

Please keep that in mind if you are planning your day to stop in to pay your taxes, utility bills or tend to any other Village business, as a meeting will be in session.

🌿 A Friendly Reminder Regarding Brush Disposal 🌿

Our Public Works Department has recently discovered a quantity of brush that was discarded on Village property outside of the designated burn pile area. This load in particular is located behind the community hall tree-line to the south. From the amount and placement of the material, it appears that larger equipment was used to deliver and unload it.

The Village Transfer site does provide a designated burn pile for the disposal of acceptable brush and yard debris on scheduled open days. We also understand that those scheduled dates may not always be convenient, which is why private access can be arranged for a small fee when needed.

We kindly ask residents and property owners to please make use of the proper disposal area rather than leaving brush or other materials on Village property.

Improper dumping creates additional work and expense for our Public Works Department and ultimately impacts the Village as a whole.

If you have brush (or other materials) to dispose of outside of the scheduled burn pile dates, please contact the Transfer site operator, Art Gadoury at 780-806-3401 to make arrangements for access.

A brief listing of September dates to share:

Monday, Sept. 7th (Labour Day) @ 7 p.m. the monthly Village Council meeting will take place, due to a scheduling conflict on the original date.

Tuesday, Sept. 8th @ 5:30 Pancake Supper @ Czar Cultural & Rec Centre. This event is hosted by Czar Fire Department as a fundraiser for local resident Remi Harder (refer to further details on a post shared earlier this week on this page).

Wednesday, Sept 9th, the Village office will close at 2 PM and not reopen until the following Tuesday, September 15th with regular office hours.

Wednesday, September 30th @ 1 p.m. there will be a tree planting short ceremony in memory of past Village Public Works employee, Norbert Bedier. The ceremony will take place in the village park adjacent to the village office/fire hall. This is the park that Norbert was very active in creating, making this particular park the perfect location for the memory tree. A symbol of his hard work, commitment and dedication to the Village. 

A number of Norbert’s family will be in attendance who have their own presentation to the Village, fulfilling Norbert’s final wishes.
