🌈💥HALIFAX COLOUR FESTIVAL💥🌈

The 11th annual Halifax Colour Festival is THIS SATURDAY, September 5 at Alderney Landing from 11am-3pm!

The event is filled with joy, music, dance and lots of colour! This is a free event, but don’t forget to register (the first 200 get a free colour pouch!!). Check out the details through and profile.

Colour Fest is organized by the Indian Festivals Club of Nova Scotia who celebrate bringing cultures and communities through events.

💙🎶LABOUR DAY PICNIC IN THE PARK🎶💙

Join us for the first ever Labour Day Weekend Picnic in the Park on Sunday, September 6 at Sullivan’s Pond from 1-5PM.

Enjoy a licensed area where you will be able to purchase craft beverages from our local businesses, a community BBQ, an area with chairs as well as ample space to lay out a blanket and enjoy the live music from Isabelle Foster and The Mellotones!

From 2-2:20 enjoy Isabelle Foster, a young Canadian-Italian singer-songwriter who writes relatable, emotional songs as well as upbeat tracks. Drawing influence from artists such as Lizzy McAlpine and Olivia Rodrigo, she explores the emotional rollercoaster of growing up, capturing the honesty and complexity of teenage life in her lyrics.

From 2:30-4:30 enjoy The Mellotones! The Mellotones have been bringing their high-octane party to stages around the world for over two decades. Lighting up dance floors wherever they go, the R&B Funk band is an 8-piece powerhouse. From weddings to festivals to late-night clubs and corporate events, their energetic show provides the perfect atmosphere for any occasion.

🌟💙FEATURE FRIDAY: OUR SUMMER CREW💛🌟

Today’s Feature Friday is a special one, as we give a big shoutout to our fantastic summer crew! Liam, Molly, Reva, Ari, and Cameron have been incredibly helpful this summer with a number of tasks.

This crew was responsible for a number of projects from helping with marketing and communications, to beautifying our downtown.

A few highlights because there are too many to list them all. They created and crafted the amazing Natal Day costumes (King & Queen of Portland Street, the City of Lakes, and the Town Clock), handed out water during heatwaves, picked up and tracked litter trends, painted the planters and lampposts, Stared in reels, helped with events, and so much more.

We are so grateful for the opportunity to have a team of summer students due to the support from the Government of Canada. We will miss this crew as they head back to school.

Hailing from Dartmouth-Halifax, their sound is both storm and stillness, leaving a trace of longing in its wake.

🍕☀️DARTMOUTH COMMON OPEN OVEN☀️🍕

What time is it? Pizza time! This Thursday, August 27 is the LAST THURSDAY OPEN OVEN our summer student’s will be hosting.

On Saturdays from 12-2pm, volunteers from the Dartmouth Common Oven will be operating the oven.

Bring your pizza dough, sauce, and your favourite toppings! If you need help, our summer crew and the volunteers are by your side.

Check with Dartmouth Common Oven for cancellations.
