On Oct. 14, at approximately 12:20 a.m., Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP received a report that a male had been shot multiple times at a residence on the Ebb and Flow First Nation.

Officers learned a 30-year-old Brandon male was standing in the doorway of a residence when three unknown male suspects drove up to it on an ATV and opened fire. The victim was struck multiple times with what was later determined to be bird shot pellets.

The victim was taken by paramedics to hospital in Portage la Prairie in stable condition.

RCMP are investigating.

On Oct. 8, at approximately 7:35 a.m., RCMP responded to a report of an armed robbery occurring at a retail business on the 100-block of Main Street South in Dauphin.

Officers learned a male suspect walked into the store wearing all black, with his face covered and carrying a knife. The suspect walked straight to the cash register, took the till and walked out.

No one was injured.

RCMP are investigating, with assistance from the Manitoba RCMP West District General Investigation Section (GIS).

On Oct. 1, at approximately 11:40 a.m., Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP learned of an assault that had occurred on Ebb and Flow First Nation.

Officers and paramedics located a 28-year-old male victim who had been assaulted and had several cuts to his body. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment of his injuries.

RCMP subsequently learned the victim had been at a residence when a second male entered and began assaulting him with multiple weapons. The victim was then restrained and was thrown in the back of a truck. He was assaulted again before eventually escaping when he jumped out of the moving truck.

At approximately 1:30 p.m., RCMP located the truck driving on Lake Road Southeast and pulled it over. The driver was arrested without incident. While searching the vehicle, officers found weapons that matched those used in the assault.

William Richard, 44, of Sandy Bay First Nation is charged with:
• Assault causing bodily harm;
• Kidnapping without fi***rm;
• Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon;
• Assault with weapon;
• Forcible confinement;
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; and
• Failure to comply with an undertaking condition.

Richard was remanded into custody.

The investigation continues.

Rose du Lac RCMP would like to thank everyone who participated in locating this individual, including numerous family members, Ebb and Flow First Nation Search and Rescue, RCMP Search and Rescue based in Winnipeg, a CSAR search plane out of Brandon and many community members from Ebb and Flow First Nation, Kinosota and the RM of Alonsa.

On Sept. 28, at 6:35 p.m., RCMP received a report of a missing 75-year-old female that had left her home in Alonsa earlier that day and didn’t return.

On Sept. 4, at approximately 10:20 p.m., RCMP responded to the first of several disturbances to occur this month at a residence in Dauphin.

Officers learned a female suspect known to the residents came to the home, caused a disturbance and threatened to fight them. She left before police arrived, then returned later in the night and smashed windows at the residence. The suspect was located walking behind bushes along Whitmore Avenue West and arrested. She was later released on an undertaking not to return to the residence.

On Sept. 9, at approximately 3:15 p.m., RCMP responded to a report of a theft at a business on the 1300-block of Main Street South in Dauphin. The suspect fled before officers arrived.

Officers identified the suspect as being the female involved in the earlier incident. She was subsequently located at the residence she was on court-ordered conditions not to attend. The stolen items were found at the residence. The suspect was arrested and released on a release order following a court hearing.

On Sept. 24, at approximately 5:20 p.m., RCMP saw the suspect at a commercial property on the 1400-block of Main Street South that she was barred from attending. The suspect was ticketed for trespassing, which carries a $672 fine.

On Sept. 25, at approximately 1 p.m., RCMP returned to the same residence as earlier incidents to investigate a report of a disturbance. Officers learned the suspect had come to the home and attempted to fight one of the residents. She was arrested nearby and later released on a release order.

On Sept. 26, at approximately 5:40 p.m., RCMP responded to yet another disturbance at the same address. The suspect returned to the residence and assaulted a female and male – the latter of which she also threatened. The suspect was arrested.

Autumn Mekish, 28, of Dauphin is charged with:
• Assault x2;
• Uttering threats;
• Failure to attend court x2;
• Failure to comply with a release order x3;
• Failure to comply with an undertaking x2;
• Mischief under $5,000; and
• Theft under $5,000 x2.

She was remanded into custody.

On Sept. 28, at 6:35 p.m., RCMP received a report of a missing 75-year-old female that had left her home in Alonsa earlier that day and didn’t return.

09/28/2026

On Sept. 25, at approximately 8:55 a.m., RCMP received a report of a possible assault that occurred outside a residence in Roblin.

RCMP learned a male suspect had subsequently left the scene inside a truck. RCMP patrolled the area, located the truck and attempted to initiate a traffic stop on Highway 5.

The driver of the truck, however, did not stop for the lights and sirens and fled at a high rate of speed. Officers did not pursue due to concerns for public safety.

Some time later, the truck was seen again by RCMP at a gas station in Gilbert Plains. As an officer approached, the truck drove away at a high rate of speed. Officers again did not pursue due to concern for public safety and lost sight of the vehicle as it was headed north on Provincial Road 584.

On Sept. 26, at approximately 8 p.m., RCMP located the truck parked at a house on the Valley River First Nation. Multiple officers – including those from the RCMP West District General Investigation Section, a drone operator and RCMP Police Dog Services – were called to the scene.

The suspect ran from the home into a field. Marook, a police service dog, located the male a short distance from the residence and an arrest was made.

The suspect was treated at the scene by local paramedics for minor injuries caused by the interaction with the police service dog.

A 33-year-old male faces charges of:
• Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle x2; and
• Flight from peace officer.

He was also ticketed under The Highway Traffic Act for driving while disqualified, which carries a fine of $672.

As part of ongoing efforts to curb retail theft, several RCMP units recently conducted a targeted two-day operation focused on arresting prolific offenders in Dauphin.

Eight arrests were made as a result of the operation, which occurred on Sept. 18 and again on Sept. 22. The initiative was led by the RCMP’s Manitoba West District General Investigation Section (GIS), with support from the Dauphin RCMP, Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP, and the Manitoba West District Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team (CREST).

The arrests included:
• A 33-year-old female from Dauphin, who was wanted on a warrant for a residential break and enter. She was arrested and released on an undertaking.
• A 48-year-old Dauphin male who was breaching his curfew and other court-ordered conditions. Reagan Skwark was remanded into custody.
• A 22-year-old Dauphin male that was wanted in connection with a recent robbery in Dauphin. Officers seized two knives after searching the suspect. James Ducharme is charged with failure to comply and possessing weapons for a dangerous purpose. He was remanded into custody.
• A 35-year-old Dauphin male, who breached court-ordered conditions that prohibited him from visiting a local retail establishment following previous shoplifting incidents. He was charged with failure to comply with a recognizance and failing to comply with an undertaking. He was released on an appearance notice.
• A 28-year-old Dauphin female who was breaching her release order. Mikayla Monkman is charged with two counts of failures to comply with her release order. She was released on a release order by the Crown.
• A Prince Albert, Sask. couple were arrested following a theft at a local retail store, just hours after being released from custody following a court appearance on weapons-related and other offences. During the arrest, a concealed weapon and break-in instruments were seized from the male suspect. MacKenzie Cameron, 25, is charged with theft under $5,000 and failure to comply with a release order. Zachary McDougall, 27, is charged with possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of break-in instruments and failure to comply with a release order. The two were remanded into custody.
• A 37-year-old Brandon male fled from officers following a retail theft. The suspect was subsequently identified by investigators, who learned he was wanted on a warrant of arrest. The suspect was arrested on Sept. 24 and faces charges of theft and resisting/obstructing a peace officer. He was released on an undertaking.

Additionally, officers handed out several tickets over the two days as part of the targeted operation. Six people were ticketed for trespassing while two others were issued tickets for consuming liquor in public. A handful of traffic tickets and warnings were also issued.

On Sept. 23, at 10:05 a.m., RCMP responded to a shoplifting incident at a business on the 1400-block of Main Street South in Dauphin.

Officers learned a female had filled a shopping cart full of groceries and left without paying. RCMP patrolled the area, quickly located the suspect nearby and took her into custody without incident.

The shopping cart, which contained $506 worth of groceries, was returned to the store.

Tanya Ironstand, 51, of Dauphin is charged with theft under $5,000.

The suspect was already facing a number of criminal charges in connection to recent incidents, including four counts of theft under $5,000, three counts of failing to comply with an undertaking and failure to attend court.

Ironstand was remanded into custody.
