North Peace OCP The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) serves a population of 58,264 that resides in seven incorporated municipalities and four rural electoral area

The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) was established in 1987, and serves a population of 58,264 that resides in seven incorporated municipalities and four rural electoral areas. The PRRD’s three primary purposes are:

· to act as local government for the (unincorporated) electoral areas;

· to provide the political and administrative frameworks necessary for member municipalities a

nd electoral areas to collaborate in the provision of services; and,

· to be the regional service body responsible for providing regional services to, and undertaking key activities on behalf of, their entire region. The Peace River Regional District works cooperatively to:

provide a broad range of local and regional services that reflect the interests, values and goals of our citizens;
provide leadership in changing environments to meet the current and future needs of our residents and businesses; and
speak with a unified voice on behalf of rural, community, and regional interests. The Peace River Regional District strives to:

preserve and enhance the spirit, traditions, and unique character of the Peace;
create sustainability through a diverse economy, high rural and community lifestyles, and a healthy, safe environment; and
unify and strengthen the Peace by providing cooperative, innovative leadership.
