Please see the following update regarding Wellness services:

Drin hǫzǫ Citizens and community members,
As you may have noticed, the Wellness branch of our K’änächa Department has for some time been operating without a full complement of jëje-in, with many key support positions unfilled for months on end. Despite the dedication and efforts of our Wellness team, these circumstances have increasingly affected our ability to provide services in a way that meets the needs of our Citizens and aligns with the standard of care we strive to uphold.

After careful consideration, and with the full support of Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Council, the decision has been made to temporarily suspend all non-essential Wellness programs and services until Monday, August 24, 2026.

This pause is not a decision that was made lightly. It reflects our responsibility to ensure that services are delivered safely, sustainably, and in a manner that supports both the wellbeing of our community and the wellbeing of those providing that support. Our goal is to return with a stronger foundation that enables us to continue supporting the wellness of our Citizens with care, consistency, and respect.

While non-essential programs and services will be paused, essential Wellness services will remain available during this period.

We recognize that this temporary service interruption may create challenges for Citizens, families, and our partners. 📣The 2026 Moosehide Gathering is almost here!
Mark your calendars for this important event taking place July 30 - August 2, 2026.

Moosehide Gathering is a biennial celebration of Indigenous culture at Moosehide Village on the Yukon River. Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in welcomes everyone to attend!

🪶This year, we have the particular honor of featuring original artwork by Graham Everitt on the Moosehide Gathering poster.

A little bit about Graham:
Graham Everitt, Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Artist
February 21, 1976 – September 2018

Graham was born with talent, an art talent that led him to create and inspire. Whether his art was painted, sketched or photography he had a uniqueness that was brought to life through his vision. He was gifted to create art in many different practices, a style to call his own, a creation to share, a story not in words but in art.

We want to extend our thanks to Graham’s family for sharing his artwork with us in this way. Mähsį cho!

On May 13, there will be an Elders Session regarding the 2026 Housing Needs Assessment.

Join us at Äłät Nëhëjël between 2:00 - 4:00 pm for a brief presentation on the scope and goals of the assessment, followed by facilitated discussion and open dialogue.

All TH Elders are welcome and encouraged to attend - your input on this matter is essential to ensure the assessment reflects the housing priorities, challenges and aspirations of the Tr'onëk Hwëch’in people.

📣Call out to Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Citizens within the Yukon Territory interested in participating in Dënezhu Revitalization trip to Tanacross/Mansfield Culture Camp.

Space for 5 TH citizens.

Criteria:
-18 years and up
-Must have Valid Passport
-Eligibility for Travel Insurance
-Ability to travel by boat and stay in a camp setting

Selection process will be done by drawing names once we have all citizens who are interested.

Deadline to apply is
Wednesday May 13th.
