🚒🔥 Thank You for Joining Us!

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by the Chalk River Fire Hall today for our Fire Prevention Week Open House!

It was great to see so many families and members of our community come out, meet our firefighters, explore our trucks and equipment, and learn more about fire safety. We hope everyone enjoyed their visit, especially those who got to meet Sparky! 🐾🚒

A special thank you to all our firefighters and volunteers who helped make today’s event a success.

We appreciate the continued support from our community and look forward to seeing everyone again next year!

LHFD crews were hard at work tonight completing vehicle extrication training.

Members practiced vehicle stabilization, glass management, door removal, patient access, tool operation, and safe extrication techniques.

Training nights like this give our firefighters the opportunity to work together, sharpen their skills, and stay prepared for motor vehicle collisions and rescue incidents throughout our municipality.

The Laurentian Hills Fire Department continues to grow as we welcome six new recruit firefighters to our team!

Over the coming months, these recruits will train alongside our members, build their skills, and work toward their firefighter certifications.

Their arrival brings new energy to our department and represents an investment in the future of our fire service.

We’re excited to watch them learn, grow, and become part of the LHFD team.

Welcome to Laurentian Hills Fire Department! 🚒🔥

🚒 We’d like to introduce the two newest members of Laurentian Hills Fire Department, our new training members (training mannequins)!

Coming in at approximately 90 kg and 20 kg, these two couldn’t have arrived at a better time as our crews move into fall auto extrication training.

These training mannequins will help add another level of realism to our scenarios. Our firefighters will work on vehicle stabilization, rescue tool operations, patient access, patient care, and safe extrication.

Auto extrication goes beyond cutting up a vehicle. Our crews need to safely access, protect, and remove patients throughout the rescue process.

We’re looking forward to putting our two newest “members” to work this fall! 🚒🔥

A quick peek into tonight’s training! 🚒💧

Crews worked on safely establishing a continuous water supply while drafting from a remote water source and running tanker shuttle operations.

A strong focus was placed on safe apparatus movement, clear communication, situational awareness, and coordinated pump operations throughout the evolution.

Tonight, Laurentian Hills firefighters hit the training ground to sharpen their rural water supply skills.

Training like this gives our firefighters valuable hands on time with the equipment, apparatus, and techniques we rely on during emergency operations.

Always a great night when we get outside, flow some water, and work together as a team. Great job by everyone who came out tonight! 🚒💦🔥

We had a great time being part of the event and connecting with members of our community.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the fire department tent to say hello, ask questions, and visit with our firefighters.
