Deer Lake Food Bank Our purpose is to obtain, store and distribute food to those in need in Deer Lake, Cormack, Reidville Who is turning to food banks?

The problem of hunger is a persistent one, with food banks providing comparable levels of food and other assistance for the better part of a decade. There is no single, typical profile. The people helped include families with children, employed people whose wages are not sufficient to cover basic living essentials, individuals on social assistance, and Canadians living on a fixed income, including people with disabilities and seniors

Yesterday evening The Deer Lake Food Bank held a small gathering to thank our fantastic volunteers for Volunteer Appreciation Week. We want to thank and acknowledge the wonderful people and businesses that helped us achieve this for our volunteers. Thank you to Some Shocking Good, Colmens, Foodland, Cormack Crumb Company, Shelly Wells, Debra Bingle, and Betty Lou Keats for all the yummy treats!! The Community Sector Council of Newfoundland and Labrador. With greetings brought to us from Carol Anstey, MP's office. We appreciate your contributions to make this happen for our volunteers.
