Did you know we host a Delta Connex Parent Peer Group ?
It's the last Friday of every month!
9:30-11:30 (excluding July, August and December)

Our next one is February 27, 2015 (Tomorrow!)

Where:
Reach Child & Youth Development Society
#3-3800 72nd Street
Ladner, BC

The parent group is an opportunity for parents with children who have ADHD, FASD or other complex behaviours to come together. At the group you can learn and reflect on your life as a parent of children that may behave in ways that are unexpected and a challenge to understand. You will gain insight in building positive relationships, celebrating your children and focus on your emotional well being. We provide a welcoming and safe environment to share experiences, knowledge and offer support to each other. This group is led by a trained facilitator.

I am still so disgusted by these studies out of the UK. They are mostly funded by alcohol distributors and they are ruining lives:
MOFAS - Misinformation persists about drinking alcohol during pregnancy
The Minnesota Organization on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (MOFAS) is concerned that the most recent study from Britain which says the children of mothers who drank ‘moderately’(defined as 3-7 drinks per week) in pregnancy actually grew up to have better balance than those who abstained, gives women a mixed message. - See more at:

I keep saying that the field of FASD is where Autism was 25 years ago. We need to learn from this! Best practice for Brain based disabilities is best practice!! You MUST look at the individual NOT at the diagnosis and provide service to the WHOLE person. Only then, will we move forward.
Regina Leader-Post (Canada) - FASD 'still such a brand-new disability'
If you were to come into contact with someone who suffers from fetal alcohol spectrum disorder, or FASD, and if they were to tell you they'd been to the moon in the recent past, they wouldn't necessarily be lying.
