We look forward to attending this event this week! Come and see us there this Thursday, June 4th!
“We All Need a Home” is a new disability theatre production co-created and performed by self-advocates with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Through storytelling, lived experience, and performance, the play explores the right to inclusive housing and what it means to have a safe place to belong in community.
Presented by the Self Advocate Theatre Company in partnership with the UBC Canadian Institute for Inclusion and Citizenship, Community Living Society, and Massey Theatre, the production continues a series of theatre projects focused on disability rights and social change. It is based on research and lived experience.
Performances take place June 4 to 6 at the Massey Theatre in New Westminster, B.C., and include accessibility features such as ASL interpretation, captions, relaxed performances, plain language programs, and wheelchair seating. Audience members are also invited to join a post-show “Talk Back” with the actors and co-creators.
