This week, we appear to time travel back to the mid 90’s for our “Throwback Thursday” photo. In this week’s photo, we find Ricky Jarville and Vivian Olsen at a BBQ event along with Lennie, who was one of our longest-serving staff members at Kyndred Society! Lennie retired a few years ago now, but Ricky and Vivian still receive services from Kyndred Society today.

October is Disability Employment Awareness Month (DEAM) and we're celebrating some of the awesome companies that hire people with diverse abilities in our community.

Joshua has been a valued team member at PepsiCo for over a year. In his role, he assembles pre-cut cardboard displays that are used to showcase products in retail stores. His attention to detail, reliability, and dedication have helped him succeed in this important position.

We are proud of Joshua's accomplishments and his ongoing commitment to his work. Reaching the one-year milestone is a wonderful achievement, and we look forward to seeing his continued success.

Starting in 2027, important changes will make the Disability Tax Credit application process more accessible for many Canadians. For certain long-lasting conditions, the application is being streamlined. More healthcare professionals will be able to certify parts of the application. The new version has information about AI and Technology, Money Management and How to Provide Input. The Guide still includes lots of information about Rights and Responsibilities and what to do if you have a concern!

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (DEAM) and we are celebrating some of the awesome organizations that hire people with diverse abilities in our community.

We're also celebrating some of the awesome people with diverse abilities who have obtained and maintained jobs! Alex has recently been hired as a Laundry Attendant with the Delta Ice Hawks, and we couldn't be more excited for him. As a passionate hockey fan and a proud member of the South Delta Special Olympics Ball Hockey Team, this opportunity is a perfect fit. Alex's love of the game, strong work ethic, and enthusiasm make him a great addition to the team. We are thrilled to see him combining his passion for hockey with meaningful employment in his community.
