Réseau 4Korners tient à féliciter Mme Marie-Claude Sarrazin, candidate pour le Parti Québécois dans Groulx pour son élection à titre de députée et sa nomination comme ministre de la Justice, ainsi que ministre responsable des Relations avec les Québécois d’expression anglaise et de plusieurs autres dossiers.

En tant qu’organisme ancré dans les Laurentides, où résident plus de 47 000 Québécois d’expression anglaise, 4Korners contribue activement à leur vitalité et à leur participation à la vie collective, notamment en matière d’accès aux services de santé et sociaux, de soutien communautaire et de développement régional.

Nous serons heureux d’accueillir Mme Sarrazin dans ses nouvelles fonctions afin de lui présenter notre travail et d’échanger sur les réalités, les défis et les possibilités qui concernent nos communautés d’expression anglaise.

What happens when you invite people to chat in their second language? 💬 Great conversations!

4Korners was proud to be a community partner and hole sponsor at the 2026 Annual LRHS Golf Tournament, supporting local students while sharing our Circonflexe Mentorship Networking Initiative. We met 101 participants, handed out brochures and resources, and encouraged everyone to step out of their comfort zone and try a conversation in their second language. It made for a warm, lively day of new connections and strengthened bilingual ties across our region.

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by, and to the LRHS for the invitation. Together, we’re building a stronger, more connected Laurentians. 💜

It was a pleasure to present to your community members, and we’re grateful to the Township of Wentworth and its Family and Seniors Committee for inviting us.

Kennedy and Chloée shared how our Patient Navigator Service can help English speakers find their way through the health and social services system, and why care that’s accessible, in your own language, matters so much for the English-speaking community in the Laurentians.

Une trentaine de participants ont pris part à la conférence gratuite présentée par 4Korners à Wentworth. Animée par Kennedy et Chloée, la rencontre a permis de découvrir les nombreux services offerts à la communauté anglophone, avant d’aborder un sujet important : les droits linguistiques des anglophones dans le système de santé. Les participants ont ainsi pu en apprendre davantage sur les ressources disponibles et les différentes façons de s’orienter dans le réseau de la santé.

📢 Recap of the Free 4Korners Conference

About thirty participants attended the free conference presented by 4Korners in Wentworth. Hosted by Kennedy and Chloée, the session provided an overview of the many services available to the English-speaking community before addressing an important topic: the language rights of English speakers within the healthcare system. Participants learned more about the resources available to them and the different ways to navigate the healthcare network.

137 people came out last Friday for the Nuit des sans-abri Pointe-Calumet, and what a night it was! 🧡

4Korners volunteers, with Sonia at our table, handed out hot coffee and hot chocolate to everyone who stopped by. A big thank you to the Tim Hortons St-Joseph-du-lac for generously donating the coffee. ☕

The evening closed with beautiful songs from young performers Emelia and Isabella Hebert, supported by their Lake of Two Mountains High School music teacher, Matthew Arcuri. 🎶

Thank you to the organizing committee for bringing our community together for such an important cause, and to everyone who came to show their support.

A meeting to better understand the realities of the community sector in the Basses-Laurentides. 🫶

The mobilization committee of the Le communautaire à boutte movement in the Basses-Laurentides (Communautaire à boutte - Basses-Laurentides) organized a meeting with the three new MNAs of the Parti Québécois, Nadine Le Gal (Blainville), Linda Vaillant (Deux-Montagnes), and Geneviève Couture (Mirabel), in the presence of the PSOC team of Santé Québec Laurentides.

The goal of the meeting was to present the reality of community organizations, explaining among other things how the Community Organization Support Program (PSOC) works, and to begin a constructive dialogue with the newly elected members and the new government. 📣

The discussions focused on:
- The principles of mission-based funding, and its basis, notably through how PSOC works
- The working conditions of people in the community sector and the need for funding that matches their realities
- Financial benchmarks and the recognition of organizations’ core needs, which clearly show the lack of funding for organizations
- The importance of preserving groups’ autonomy in carrying out their mission
- Recognition of the essential contribution of community organizations to the health and well-being of communities

The meeting also allowed the movement to present its main orientations. It aims to promote better working conditions, adequate and predictable funding, greater recognition of organizations, and a better understanding of their role in society.

💬 The goal: to foster better mutual understanding and lay the foundation for a lasting dialogue between the community sector and elected officials, so that discussions can continue on the needs of organizations and the realities of the communities they support.

From October 19 to 23, we’re celebrating National Autonomous Community Action Week, themed “We Are Autonomous Community Actors: 30 Years of Fighting for Recognition.”

For over 30 years, autonomous community action organizations have worked side by side with their communities, creating concrete solutions that leave no one behind. Across Quebec, 54,000 workers and 425,000 activists and volunteers show up every day. Here in the Laurentians, we’re proud to be part of that movement and to serve our English-speaking community.
