🌿 4Korners’ seniors group, Open Circle, welcomed Steve O’Brien on May 26th for an engaging and informative session!

Steve shared simple ways to practice mobility, balance, and strength at home, while highlighting the important connection between movement and mental health. Each exercise was carefully explained and discussed, helping participants understand not only how to move, but why movement is so important as we age.

Participants were encouraged to demonstrate and practice each movement, with Steve observing, offering guidance, and helping with proper technique. This hands-on approach allowed everyone to feel more confident and comfortable with the exercises.

There were lots of great questions, conversations, and shared experiences throughout the session. Thank you, Steve, for bringing your knowledge and energy to Open Circle!

🌿 On June 8, 4Korners took part in the Outreach Caravan in Gore!

This wonderful community event gave residents the opportunity to learn more about Cognitive Health Prevention and Promotion through a thorough bilingual presentation by the CISSS des Laurentides .
Community members also had the chance to visit information kiosks from 10 organizations serving the Argenteuil territory, connect with local resources, and enjoy a delicious lunch together.

🤝 These Outreach Caravans are an important way to bring services and information directly into the community, connect with seniors where they live, and create welcoming spaces for learning, socializing, and building connections.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this day a success!

🎨 What a wonderful event to be part of!
On June 4, 4Korners was proud to have a kiosk at the Vitrines culturelles d'Argenteuil, organized by the MRC d'Argenteuil in collaboration with Culture Laurentides at the stunning Centre musical CAMMAC Music Centre in Harrington.
Alongside six other organizations from the region, we had the chance to share our programs and services with over 70 partners, cultural representatives, artists, and elected officials from across the Laurentians - in a fun, speed-dating style format that made for some truly great conversations! 💙
Events like this remind us how rich and vibrant our region's cultural community is - and how much we can accomplish when we come together. 🌿
Thank you to the MRC d'Argenteuil and Culture Laurentides for organizing such a well-run and inspiring day! 👇

🎶 Have you caught all of Season 5 yet?

While we gear up for a brand new season of Youth Korner Podcast Jeunesse, now is the perfect time to discover the episodes you may have missed!

Meet Brooke Fullerton - music teacher, singer-songwriter, and member of Foreman and Co, a band with deep roots right here in the Laurentians. 🌿 Brooke sits down to talk about bilingualism, small-town community, and how music is one of the most powerful tools for bringing people together. She also shares the story behind Foreman and Co's newest album, Atomic City - and how music drew her back to the rural region of Argenteuil.

And the best part? Foreman and Co will be playing several shows in the Laurentians this summer - so this is the perfect introduction! 🎤

🎭 4Korners was proud to be part of the English premiere of Théâtre la belle Gang’s presentation of The Allbright Residence in Lachute this past weekend (June 6 & 7).

This powerful and touching play explored elder abuse in its many forms, bringing awareness to an important issue that affects individuals, families, and communities.

The timing of this presentation was especially meaningful as we approach World Elder Abuse Awareness Day on June 15th — a reminder of the importance of recognizing, preventing, and speaking out against elder abuse.

👏 Congratulations to Théâtre Belle Gang for creating such an impactful local production and for using theatre as a way to open important conversations.

There will be an encore presentation on June 18th at 2:00 p.m. in Morin Heights.
We encourage everyone to attend and support local theatre while learning more about this important topic.

🐕 Can a landlord refuse your service dog? Can you bring an emotional support animal into a restaurant?
In Quebec, the answer depends on the role the animal plays - and the difference matters more than you might think! Service dogs generally have stronger legal protections than emotional support animals, and knowing your rights can make all the difference. 💙
Éducaloi breaks it all down in plain English - a must-read for anyone in the Laurentians navigating these situations! 👇
