💧 Hydrant Flushing is Underway

A reminder that Town of Devon Operations is completing annual fire hydrant flushing throughout the community, with work expected to continue until approximately the week of October 26.

As crews flush water lines, residents may temporarily notice cloudy or discoloured water caused by sediment being stirred up in the system.

🚰 If this happens run your cold-water taps until the water clears.

The water remains potable and safe to use during flushing.

Thank you for your patience while crews complete this important annual maintenance.

🔎 One person’s unwanted item could be someone else’s treasure!

Devon’s Fall Treasure Hunt takes place Oct. 17 & 18.

Have furniture, toys, tools, kitchenware, décor or other usable household items you no longer need? Place them at the curb where your carts normally go and clearly mark them “FREE.”

Residents are encouraged to tour the community and give these items a second life. ♻️

Please remove any unclaimed items once the Treasure Hunt is over.

Then, get ready for Large Item Pick-Up on Oct. 20 & 21, when households can set out up to 4 eligible bulky items on their regular garbage day.

♻️ More can go in your blue bag!

Devon’s expanded recycling program has been in place since Oct. 1, which means residents can now recycle even more materials curbside.

Newly accepted items include:
☕ Paper laminates, including coffee cups
🛍️ Flexible plastics and films
🥫 Empty aerosol containers
📦 Foam packaging (Styrofoam)
🍾 Glass bottles and jars

Your regular Tuesday and Wednesday recycling collection days remain the same.

🚛 Have a recycling collection issue? For the fastest service, please contact Integrity Waste Solutions directly for missed collections or other curbside recycling concerns.

Celebrate World Migratory Bird Day with Devon’s Bird Team and the Devon Nature Club on Oct. 17.

Local bird enthusiast Jenise Bidulock will share tips and guidelines for backyard bird feeding and observation, including ways to enjoy both Devon’s migratory visitors and the species that stick around all year.

🍂 Fall Treasure Hunt & Large Item Pick-Up are coming up in Devon!

It’s almost time to clear out some space, give unwanted items a second life and dispose of those larger household items that don’t fit in your cart.

🔎 Fall Treasure Hunt
📅 Oct. 17 & 18
Place unwanted but usable items at the curb where your carts normally go and mark them “FREE.”

🛻 Large Item Pick-Up
📅 Oct. 20 & 21
Residents can place up to 4 eligible bulky items at the curb for collection on their regular garbage day.

♻️ Free Large Item Drop-Off
📅 Oct. 19–24 at the Devon Recycle Depot during regular operating hours.

Thank you, Devon! 🚒

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us Tuesday evening for the Devon Fire Rescue Open House, presented with TELUS!

It was fantastic to welcome so many residents to the Fire Hall, meet our firefighters, explore the equipment and spend some time together as a community.

And you definitely came hungry — 350 hot dogs were served! 🌭

Thank you to everyone who helped make the evening such a success, and to all of you who stopped by.

🔥 Fire Prevention Week continues! Be sure to follow Devon Fire Rescue on Instagram throughout the week for helpful fire prevention and safety tips.

Thanks again for making this year’s Open House a great one! ❤️
