Notice Regarding Housing Unit Transfers
Dear BRDN Housing Clients,
This letter serves as an important reminder regarding Buffalo River Dene Nation Housing Department policies.
There are no exceptions to the policy regarding the transfer, trading, or giving of a BRDN housing unit to another individual. Housing units assigned through the BRDN Housing Department are approved for the specific applicant(s) who were selected through the housing allocation process.
Clients are not permitted to:
Trade homes with another tenant.
Give their home to a family member, friend, or any other person.
Allow another individual or family to take over their housing unit without prior written approval from the BRDN Housing Department.
If you no longer wish to live in your assigned housing unit or would like someone else to occupy it, you must first notify the BRDN Housing Department. The housing unit must be signed back over to Buffalo River Dene Nation, and the Housing Committee will determine the next eligible applicant based on the Nation's housing policies and waiting list.
Any unauthorized transfer, trade, or occupancy of a BRDN housing unit may result in the cancellation of your housing agreement and the recovery of the unit by Buffalo River Dene Nation.
These policies are in place to ensure fairness, accountability, and equal access to housing for all eligible BRDN members.
