Donalda Library Donalda Library We are a small community library. We mange to do some very wonderful things with an awesome board of directors.

Each summer we put on a youth program and have other assorted activities throughout the rest of the year. We are always looking for new ideas and volunteers. We are a part of The Parkland Regional Library System and TAL.

Saw some yellow leaves today. So that ruins my week.

However, we do have some new books in! If you like Hippos, we've got 4 of "Fiona" the Hippo's books in for beginning readers in the level 1 category. "All About Ancient Egypt", one of our most popular subjects in non-fiction is in, and "Good Morning On The Farm" in board books!

Batteries not included, but can confirm the Cow does still say "Moo".

Wondered what was eating space on this computer and it turns out that, years before my time, someone was an Evanescence fan and loaded the music folder with 6.5 GB of music.

Speaking of, you'll (re)discover thousands of songs when you come play "Hitster" on Mondays starting at 4 PM, all summer long. If you get "Bring Me To Life" and sing along, you are required to sing BOTH parts of the song, however. House rules.

I'm gonna be real with you, fam. Word on the street is that the power is out all over town. Not a drop to be found. If it's not back on at 2. I ain't coming.

BUT, tomorrow is Dinosaurs at the museum and library! There should be power again by then, and kids will be able to hunt for dinosaurs in the museum! Then swing by the library to watch a movie-projector screening of "The Land Before Time!"

There are even take-home dino-egg kits and snacks! Give us a call or shoot us an email to let us know that you'll be there as there are still a few spots left!

The Donalda & District Museum are teaming up with the Donalda Library to bring children across the land a dinosaur-themed afternoon of fun on July 23rd!

First, find hidden dinosaurs in the museum scavenger hunt and see real dinosaur and other animal bones from times long ago. Afterwards, make your way down to the hall to the library and enjoy a movie-projector screening of Don Bluth's 1988 masterpiece "The Land Before Time"! There will also be some take-home prizes! Yep, yep, yep!

The program runs until approx. 5 pm.

Please be aware that children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by a legal guardian at all times. Children ages 7-9 may be dropped off, but we require contact information for their parents or legal guardian. Children ages 10+ may use the library unattended provided they do not require supervision for their behavior.

Register, free of charge, for this program at the library by either visiting in person or calling during business hours Mon - Thurs, 2 - 6 pm!

Some new books in at the Library this week including

• "The Real Cowboys & Aliens: Old West UFOS" which describes UFO sightings in the old west. The Donalda Area itself is no stranger to UFO sightings dating back to the early settlers. Stettler was the sight of a major crop circle in 2009.

• "Mothra: Queen of The Monsters" is a graphic novel Godzilla fans won't want to miss, as twin sisters travel back in time to locate an ancient Mothra egg.

School's out for summer! Books, however, are still very much in.

Stop by the Donalda Library to pick up your summer reading Bingo card! Each week you fill a row, bring it in to collect a new prize including, but not limited to: Swimming passes courtesy of the Stettler Recreation Centre, gift cards worth scoops of ice cream from the Coulee Tea House, fun collectibles, sports equipment, outdoor summer games and more!

There may even be bonus prizes for those who manage to blackout their bingo card at the end of August!

Further, each row successfully completed earns you an entry into one of two (2) fifty-dollar prize draws!

Hurry in to the library today — that's your free space on the bingo card!
