Until further notice. Please monitor municipal website for updates.

Effective 12:01 AM on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, Thames Centre, along with all Middlesex County municipalities, will implement a County-Wide burn ban.

All open-air burning is prohibited, except for small recreational fires that comply with applicable Municipal bylaws. All outstanding burn permits are effectively revoked as of 12:01 AM.

Residents are encouraged to consult the municipality’s website for updates.

Congratulations to Mrs. Warren’s grade 3/4 class at West Nissouri Public School! They won a pizza party hosted by the Fire Chief for having the best Home Fire Escape plans.

District Chief Lightfoot facilitated the competition among Grade 3 classes through the Public Education Committee. Congratulations to Mrs. Warren's class for being our winners!

Last night, we recognized and congratulated 10 of our newest TCFD recruits at their graduation ceremony after completing their mandatory Firefighter Certification Training through the Elgin-Middlesex Regional Fire Training School. Countless hours of theoretical and practical work combined with continuous self-study culminated in their successful completion of NFPA 1001, Levels 1 & 2 Firefighter Certification. During school, they also completed Hazardous Materials Operations training and Emergency Medical Response training to compliment their portfolios.
We are proud of our recruit volunteer firefighters and recognize their dedication and compassion in seeing themselves through this challenging certification phase. Although the learning never ends in the fire service, we take time to give kudos to this incredible team of recruit firefighters and how they’ve progressed in their first 6 months with TCFD.
Well done, crew!! We’re proud of you.

This past Tuesday, TCFD celebrated Aaron Lightfoot as he succeeded into the role of District Chief of station 1. Mayor McMillan stopped by to show her support and assisted Deputy District Chief Rick Sager and Chief Nick Dorken with Aaron’s White Helmet presentation.

The firefighters of TCFD are excited to have Aaron take on this integral role. As a vibrant member of the community and our team, we are confident that he will serve as station 1’s new leader with pride, professionalism, and compassion.
