In Memory of Mark Dallyn
We are heartbroken to share the news of the passing of Mark Dallyn, a dedicated wildlife rehabilitator, compassionate advocate, and long-time collaborator through Healing Haven Wildlife Rescue.
Mark gave his heart to Saskatchewan’s wildlife. Whether answering late-night rescue calls, caring for orphaned animals, or mentoring others in the field, his devotion to wild lives was unwavering. He was the only permitted black bear rehabilitator in the province, a remarkable and lasting legacy that speaks to his expertise, commitment, and care for even the most complex cases.
Mark worked closely with his mother, Rose, who stood beside him through countless rescues and releases. He is also lovingly remembered by his father, Cliff and brother, Chris and by the many friends, volunteers, and colleagues who walked alongside him in service of wildlife.
The WRSOS team joins many others across Saskatchewan in mourning this loss. Mark’s work touched so many, both human and animal, and his legacy will carry on through every life he helped save.
We are keeping Mark’s family, friends, and the Healing Haven team in our thoughts during this difficult time. We invite you to join us in reflecting on the impact one person can have when they lead with compassion.
Thank you, Mark, for everything.
