♻️ The Township of Douro-Dummer is in the Clean Up Peterborough 2nd Annual Writing Instrument Challenge!

Throughout the month of June, residents are encouraged to collect used plastic-based writing instruments to help divert waste from landfill.

🖊️Accepted items include:
• Pens
• Markers
• Highlighters
• Mechanical pencils
• Other plastic-based writing instruments

🔔Please note that wooden pencils, pencil crayons, and crayons are not accepted. Writing instruments containing metal components are accepted and will be separated during processing.

📍Drop-off location:
— Writing utensils can be dropped off at Township of Douro-Dummer Municipal Office (Located at 894 South Street Warsaw ON, K0L 3A0).

🚧Douro Community Centre Ice Surface Replacement Project Update — June 8, 2026🚧

The cement has been poured into the apron!

The next steps of the project will be to level the sand and place insulation for refrigeration lines.

This project is supported through the Province of Ontario’s Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund (CSRIF).

Please note: The Harvest Room and Wellington Room remain available for rent, but construction noise may be heard during work hours.

We will continue to post updates as the project progresses!

📍Location: County Road 6, from County Road 40 to approximately 2.8 kilometres north of County Road 56
📆Start Date: June 8, 2026
📆Expected Completion Date: June 10, 2026

What to expect:
- Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to plan their travel accordingly. Emergency vehicles will be provided priority access through the work zone at all times.

🚨UPDATE — Sunday June 7 Workshop Has Been Postponed 🚨

Birchcliff Property Owners Association (BPOA) has received notice from the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) that because the current extreme fire situation MNR will not be able to send any speakers to present at their workshop and they have cancelled all presentation events planned for the weekend.

💧If you are interested in wastewater management sessions please attend the other two sessions scheduled this summer.

Upcoming Sessions:
✅ Saturday June 20, at 1:00 p.m. at the Crowe's Landing Pavilion (2378 Crowe's Landing Road W.)
✅ Thursday July 30, at 6:00 p.m. Township of Douro-Dummer Town Hall (894 South Street, Warsaw)
