Exciting News!

Town Council is extremely excited to announce that Humans Helping Humans has taken ownership of the Town owned shelter pod and will be overseeing the full operations of both shelter pods! Two shelter pods were purchased in 2022, one by the Town and one by Humans Helping Humans and are located at the old Public Works yard, across from the RCMP detachment and have been in operation since the summer of 2022.
The costs of the pods and ongoing operational costs of the Towns shelter pod have been covered through a provincial grant that will continue for the next year. Humans Helping Humans will continue to pursue grants to offset costs in the coming years. Town Council has made allowances in future budgets to absorb these costs should grants not be available.

Town Council would like to acknowledge Humans Helping Humans and their amazing group of volunteers for supporting this important initiative from the beginning and making sure this service is available in the community ensuring that our community’s most vulnerable citizens have a safe, warm place to sleep.
