Adventure is calling, but safety always comes first. Whether you're exploring the sandy trails or heading to the back lakes, make sure your quad trip is one to remember for the right reasons.

Quick Trail Safety Tips:
✅ Gear Up: A DOT-compliant helmet is your best friend. Don't hit the trails without eye protection, gloves, and sturdy boots.
✅ Ride Sober: Alcohol and quads don't mix. Keep a clear head to stay in control.
✅ Know Your Limits: Stick to marked trails and avoid paved roads where quads are harder to handle.
✅ Respect: Slow down and give plenty of space to hikers or others on the trail. Avoid "roosting" or spraying debris to keep the trails friendly for everyone!

Ride safe today, so you can ride again tomorrow.

The Lakeshore Regional Police are warning of a surge in account takeovers involving ONE-TIME PASSCODES (OTP).

📱 Fraudsters are targeting accounts on Facebook, WhatsApp, banking platforms, and more. They trigger a legitimate code to your phone and then impersonate a friend or organization to trick you into sharing it.

🚩 Warning Signs:
· You receive an One-time passcode you didn't request.
· Someone claims they sent you a code “by mistake”.
· An urgent request from a contact seems out of character.

🛡️ How to Protect Yourself:
NEVER share your One-time Passcode: with anyone—not even friends or service providers.
VERIFY independently: Contact the person or company directly through a trusted number.
SECURE your accounts: Use strong, unique passwords and review your login activity regularly.

🆘 Already a Target?:
Report it to your local police and the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.

No More Stolen Sisters: Honoring Red Dress Day.

Today, the Lakeshore Regional Police Service stands in solidarity with the Sawridge, Swan River, Driftpile, and Sucker Creek First Nations. We hang red dresses to remember those who are missing, to honor those we have lost, and to support the families who continue to seek justice.

How We Can Stand Together:
❤️ Wear Red: Show your support by wearing red today and sharing your photos to raise awareness.

👗 Hang a Dress: Display a red dress in your window or yard as a visual reminder of the work that still needs to be done.

📚 Listen & Learn: Take time to read the MMIWG Final Report and Calls for Justice to understand how we can all help end this crisis.

Our commitment to protecting the women, girls, and two-spirit members of our Nations is unwavering. We see you, we hear you, and we stand by you.

Alberta Traffic Safety Initiative - May - Motorcycle Safety.

With the snow finally gone, motorcycles are back on the highways and community roads. Because riders are more vulnerable than those in vehicles, safety is a two-way street.

For Riders:
✅Gear Up: Where DOT-approved helmet & protective layers.
✅Be Seen: Stay out of blind spots; use high-viz gear.
✅Scan: Watch for spring gravel and potholes in corners.

For Drivers:
👀Look Twice: Motorcycles are closer than they appear.
↔️Give Space: Increase you following distance.

Whether you are on two wheels or four, safety is a shared responsibility. Let’s make this season safe for everyone.

Construction is officially underway!

You may have noticed increased activity and heavy equipment at our building as we begin our detachment expansion.

This expansion is a vital step in enhancing our ability to provide effective, culturally responsive policing that respects and reflects the unique needs of the First Nation communities we serve.

We’re staying open during the work, but here is what you need to know for your next visit:
🚪 Entrance: Public access remains the same! Please use our main door as usual.
👣Pathway: Follow the new designated pathway to get to us safely.
🅿️ Parking: Feel free to park along the side of the road or at the community hall by the splash park.
📞 Admin Line: Have questions or concerns? Call our office at 1.855.299.0138.

We ask that residents use caution when driving near our office. Let’s keep our workers and our community safe. As a reminder, traffic fines in construction zones increased as of March 13, 2026 - slow down and stay alert!

Thank you for your patience and support as we expand our facilities to better serve our First Nations.
