River Access at Nacmine Construction Zones: Stay Safe, Stay Out

The river is an important part of life in Drumheller—but during active construction, access through work zones is strictly off-limits for your safety.

Construction sites pose serious hazards, even after hours. Barricades, fencing, and signage are in place to protect you. Please respect all safety measures and avoid entering any construction areas, even if they seem quiet or inactive.

Help keep our community safe:
• Stay alert
• Follow posted signs
• Use alternate river access points away from construction zones

Thank you for your cooperation as we continue building a safer, more flood-resilient Drumheller.

Tree clearing has been planed carefully to be completed before the migratory bird nesting period. This thoughtful approach ensures that we are respecting local wildlife while moving forward with the project.

Pre-Construction Blessing Ceremony
Prior to clearing the trees, we took a moment to honor the land. An Indigenous Blessing Ceremony was held to pay respect to the earth, the trees, and the spirit of the land. This sacred tradition sets our intention for a mindful and respectful approach to the work ahead.
We embrace this important step as we honor the past, present, and future of this land.
