The Village of Duchess recently took part in a Council Orientation led by George B. Cuff, bringing together elected officials from the City of Brooks, County of Newell, Town of Bassano, Village of Duchess, and Village of Rosemary.

Such collaboration is vital for strengthening our region and laying the groundwork for collective success. When we unite our efforts, we create more resilient communities for everyone residing in this area.

Message from FORTIS Alberta: Due to severe storm damage, FortisAlberta is experiencing multiple downed power poles, trees on lines, and wires down across the following areas:
Brooks, Town of Bassano, Villages of Rosemary, Tilley, Duchess, and Patricia. Our crews are actively responding to the situation. However, we ask customers to prepare for the possibility of being without power overnight. Triage and repair efforts will resume at Daylight.

The Village of Duchess aims to offer additional information about the power outage and a potential timeline for restoring power in the morning, and they will share this information upon receiving it.
