1) We need a community-lead where the solutions to our most urgent issues come from our people.
2) We need trained and equipped Community Safety Officers with a mandate to identify problem behaviors and locations, and proactively prevent crime.
3) We need full-time, trained, and equipped Emergency Management and Fire Departments – because our safety isn’t part-time or seasonal.
4) We need to address the simplest issue affecting our safety: stray dogs. We need to round ‘em up, get them to their owners, or bring them to the SPCA or a vet.
5) We need to provide our access to consistent, creative, supervised, and structured activities that engage them emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and physically.
6) We need a Council Task Force to lead all these initiatives and to report to the membership on the common sense solutions that can be implemented now!
