We’re celebrating our seniors even more next Thursday ~ July 2! ☕🌸

Rascal’s mom will be here and we’ll be having a small tea party in the store. Rascal has also put together a special display featuring some adorable adoptable animals from a few of our amazing rescue partners.

Everyone is welcome ~ you don’t need to be a senior to enjoy a cup of tea and spend some time with us! And this event is completely free!

With temperatures rising, it's incredibly important to know where you can go to beat the heat, grab a drink of water, or just rest in the shade.

A community resource map has been put together to help everyone find indoor and outdoor spaces to cool off during heat warnings.

As we begin to see heat advisories across the province, remember that BC 211 is available to help people find information about cooling centres, public cooling spaces, shelter options, and other community supports.

Community members can connect with a 211 Resource Navigator by calling or texting 2-1-1, Monday to Friday, 9am to 9pm or by searching resources through the BC.211.ca website available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We are proud to stand with the BC Association of Community Response Networks to help shine a light on this vital cause and celebrate the strength, wisdom, and resilience of older adults. 🌟

Today, we recognize World Elder Abuse Awareness Day and join communities around the world in raising awareness.

Awareness is an important first step, but it's our actions that create change. Checking in on older adults, reducing isolation, learning the warning signs, and speaking up when something doesn’t seem right can all make a difference.

For World Elder Abuse Awareness Day we invite you to wear purple, start a conversation, take time to learn more from our resources, and help raise awareness for elder abuse prevention.

Together, we can build communities where older adults are supported and safe.

Experience truly matters! 💙 This BC Seniors’ Week, we celebrate the incredible seniors we walk alongside every day and honor their invaluable stories and contributions to our community. 🍁

June 1–7 is BC Seniors’ Week!

This year’s theme is ‘Experience Matters’, recognizing the many contributions, perspectives and lived experiences of older adults across British Columbia.

Throughout the week, we’ll be celebrating seniors and inviting them to share their thoughts on ageing, community and connection.

Our team will be on-site at the Duncan Island Return-It location this Saturday, May 30th!

If you have any empty bottles, cans, or returnables lying around, Saturday is the perfect day to bring them in. No sorting required! You can easily donate your returnables and help us support local caregivers in our community. 💙
