On , New Democrats honour the families, survivors, and advocates who work tirelessly to demand justice for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, Two-Spirit and Gender Diverse Peoples.

Indigenous women, girls and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people face disproportionately high rates of violence, and are nearly six times more likely to be murdered than non-Indigenous people in Canada. Between 2019 and 2025, more than one in four women killed in this country were Indigenous.

Behind these numbers are countless lives taken too soon, and loved ones left living in grief.

Indigenous women, girls, two-spirit and gender-diverse people have the right to live in safety and dignity.

New Democrats will fight to end the systemic racism at the root of this ongoing genocidal violence — and secure justice for survivors and all those we have lost.

Big corporations keep finding new ways to rip you off.

Now they’re using AI-powered pricing tools to look at your personal data — and figure out the highest price they think you’ll pay.

We need to stop surveillance pricing before it becomes the norm.

Today, Ed Broadbent would have celebrated his 90th birthday, and the occasion gives us a chance to reflect on his ideas and work.

Through the 'Ed Broadbent Digital Archive' project led by Luke Savage and Frances Abele, his legacy can help Canadians understand today's world and its crises.

According to Abele: "It is worth remembering that the institutions that were so important to Ed grew out of the grinding misery of economic depression and war. In that context, it was clear to him that movement towards social democracy, or democratic socialism, was the necessary remedy."

For Savage, "when it comes to Ed’s legacy I think [his internationalism] is important in and of itself because it is easily the least well-known and least written about aspect of Ed Broadbent’s roughly seven decade career in public life. That, in my opinion, is a serious oversight."

Listen & read his remarks entitled "Toward A New Internationalism" from the 2026 Progress Summit: broadbentinstitute.ca/research/toward-a-new-internationalism/

Support the preservation of Ed's ideas and vision for Canada by contributing to the Ed Broadbent Digital Archive today!
