SCHEDULED DELAY: Curbside Collection due to Remembrance Day

Reminder to residents that there will be a one-day DELAY in curbside collection for Zones 2,3 & 4

- Zone 1 - regular pick-up on Monday, Nov 10th
- Zone 2 - pick-up on Wednesday, Nov 12th
- Zone 3 - pick-up on Thursday, Nov 13th
- Zone 4 - pick-up on Friday, Nov 14th

Don't forget to have your carts curbside by 7am on your scheduled collection day to ensure pick-up occurs.

NOTICE: Dundalk Transfer Station Closure

Residents are reminded that the Dundalk Transfer Station will be CLOSED for Remembrance Day, Tuesday, November 11th.

Alternatives for waste drop-off are as follows:
- Egremont Transfer Station - Open Wednesday, Nov 12th - 10am to 3pm.
- Dundalk Transfer Station - Open Saturday, Nov 15th - 9am to 1pm.

Our Office will be closed on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, in honour of Remembrance Day.

We will reopen on Wednesday, October 12th for regular business at 8:30am.

UPDATE: The technical issue with the Township of Southgate website has been resolved and website services are restored.

The Township of Southgate website is currently down due to a technical issue. We are actively working to resolve the problem and restore service as soon as possible.

Update - The below service disruption has been completed and regular services have resumed at the Township of Southgate Administrative Office.

The Township of Southgate Administrative Office will experience a temporary service disruption on Tuesday October 28, 2025 from 12:00PM to 12:30PM.

During this 30-minute period, telephone and internet services will be unavailable. We appreciate the public's patience and understanding as staff complete necessary maintenance.

Regular services will resume promptly following the disruption.

Dundalk Fire Department Achieves Superior Tanker Shuttle Accreditation – Commercial Rating

The Dundalk Fire Department is proud to announce that, as of September 27th, 2025, we have successfully achieved the Superior Tanker Shuttle Accreditation (Commercial Rating).

What This Means for You

This accreditation may provide insurance benefits to eligible properties located:

Within 8 km (driving distance) of the Dundalk Fire Department – Private dwellings

Within 5 km (driving distance) – Commercial and industrial properties

Applicable only to properties outside the municipal fire hydrant network

Insurance providers may now apply hydrant-protected rates to these qualifying properties — extending across all municipalities served by the Dundalk Fire Department, provided they fall within the required distance from the fire hall.

Next Steps for Residents and Business Owners

We encourage you to contact your insurance provider and submit a copy of the accreditation certificate.
Please note: Insurance requirements may vary between providers, so be sure to confirm eligibility with your broker.

Reminder to all Southgate residents that there is a scheduled Cart Collection DELAY due to Thanksgiving Holiday Monday.

- ZONE 1 - pick-up is Tuesday, Oct 14, 2025
- ZONE 2 - pick-up is Wednesday, Oct 15, 2025
- ZONE 3 - pick-up is Thursday, Oct 16, 2025
- ZONE 4 - pick-up is Friday, Oct 17, 2025
