FIRE PREVENTION WEEK | Lithium-ion batteries can fail without warning. ⚠️

Thermal runaway is a dangerous chain reaction where one overheating cell can cause surrounding cells to overheat, rapidly releasing heat, flammable gases and intense fire.

And it doesn’t always stop when the flames go out. Thermal runaway can cause a battery to reignite repeatedly as other cells continue to heat up and fail.

⚠️ DON’T IGNORE THE WARNING SIGNS:
• Getting unusually hot
• Swelling or bulging
• Strange smell
• Hissing or cracking
• Leaking

🔋 If your battery or device is acting strangely, stop using it immediately.
Thermal runaway can happen in seconds, and the danger can continue long after the first flames appear.
