Important notice:

The Township of Southgate will soon begin applying liquid dust suppressant to gravel roads throughout the municipality.

This annual maintenance helps reduce dust, improve road conditions, and support safer travel for residents and motorists during the warmer months.

Crews will be working throughout the Township over the coming weeks, weather permitting. Residents may notice slower-moving equipment and temporary wet road conditions during application.

Please use caution when travelling near work areas and give crews plenty of space to complete the work safely.

🚧Ida Street at Main Street Now Closed

Residents are reminded that, Main Street/Grey Road 9 from Ida Street to just short of the west entrance of Highpoint Community School is now closed for construction.

Main Street works are being phased so that both entrances to Highpoint Community School remain accessible during the school months.

Please note that access from the east will remain open. Access from the west will be impacted due to the Ida Street/Main Street intersection closure.

The Dundalk Wesleyan Church can be accessed by turning North on Ida Street from Victoria Street East.

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, use posted detour routes where possible, and follow all posted construction signage.
