Spring cleaning is the perfect time to clear out items that don't belong in your garbage or recycling! ♻️

Residents can dispose of household hazardous waste and electronics safely - and free of charge! - at one of our Haldimand County hazardous waste drop-off events held throughout the year!

🌱The first event is around the corner!
Where: Cayuga Secondary School, Cayuga
When: April 11, 2026 , 9am - 1pm

✅Drop off items like paint, batteries, bulbs, old medications, propane tanks, electronics, and more - all handled safely and responsibly.

There's a small hop in the waste collection schedule this Easter!🐰

🚛Waste normally collected on Friday April 3 will be picked up on Saturday April 4. Collection for Monday April 6 will happen as usual.

Haldimand County residents will notice 2 brand new, made in Canada trucks on our curbside routes starting today. Thank you Haldimand County for the patience in waiting for these new units, Norfolk Disposal Services Limited for all the help, advice, and camera install, Laura Fletcher Design for the amazing sticker design, Superior Signs for the stickers and installation and Driveline Truck&Trailer for the beautiful trucks.

🍂 Thanksgiving Holiday Closure Notice 🍂
Please note that some Haldimand County services and facilities will be closed on Monday, October 13 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

What’s closed:
- Haldimand County Administration Building
- All Library Branches
- Arenas
- Museums
- Canborough Waste Management Facility

🚛 Garbage & Recycling:
There will be no curbside collection on Monday. Collection will be delayed by one day, running Tuesday through Saturday.

Our new DZ Driver training program allows us to hire licensed DZ drivers with under 3 years experience.

The successful candidate will be paired with an experienced DZ Driver so they can learn the safe operation of a garbage truck, collection routes and routine maintenance.

Must have clean driving record

You will be helping with hands-on curbside collection (throwing garbage a minimum 50% of the time)

❗️This job requires daily repetitive lifting.

✅ Valid DZ license
✅ Clean driving record
✅ Physically fit and ready to work
✅ Strong work ethic and reliable
