What an incredible day!

On behalf of the Durham Firefighters Association, we want to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who made our 25th Annual Golf Tournament such a tremendous success.

To our sponsors – your generosity and continued support make this event possible year after year. Your commitment to our community and our association is truly appreciated.

To all of the golfers and teams who came out to play, thank you for spending your day with us. Whether you were chasing birdies, enjoying time with friends, or simply supporting a great cause, your participation means the world to us.

A special thank you also goes out to our volunteers, donors, and everyone who worked behind the scenes to make the day run smoothly. Events like this don't happen without an incredible team of people giving their time and effort.

This year's tournament marked 25 years of community support, friendship, and fundraising. The proceeds from this event will help the Durham Firefighters Association continue supporting firefighter training, equipment, community initiatives, and the development of our future training centre.

From all of us at the Durham Firefighters Association - thank you for being part of this milestone year.

The Durham Firefighters Association is proud to be partnering with the West Grey-Durham Lions Club to host a Father's Day Breakfast & Caesars fundraiser in support of Durham Hospital Foundation and the new X-Ray Suite at the Durham Hospital.

Bring Dad out for a great breakfast, enjoy a Caesar, and help support an important healthcare project that will benefit our entire community.

Be sure to check out the Durham Hospital Foundation's "Swing for the Scan" Co-Ed Slow Pitch Tournament on Saturday, June 20. It's shaping up to be a fantastic day of ball, entertainment, food, and community support.

Together, these events are helping raise funds for the new X-Ray Suite at Durham Hospital.

We hope to see everyone out for a great weekend supporting local healthcare!

That flashing green light isn’t decoration! It means a volunteer firefighter is responding to an emergency.

When you see a vehicle displaying a flashing green light in Ontario:
🚗 Safely yield the right of way
⬅️ Pull over when safe to do so
🚫 Don’t follow closely or try to pass aggressively
⚠️ Stay alert — they’re heading to help someone in need

Volunteer firefighters respond from home, work, dinner tables, and ball games - every second counts.

Join us for a fun day on the course! Lots of teams spots for golf or come out after the golf is done for dinner! $500/team or $125/person. Dinner only is $30. Longest drive and closest to the pin competition, hole in one prize plus the putting contest, the ball drop and 50/50.

Today, on International Firefighters’ Day, we’re proud to recognize not just the firefighters who serve—but the community that stands behind them.

Every call we respond to, every training night, and every community event is made possible because of your support. Whether it’s a wave from a passing car, a conversation at a local event, or showing up to support events like our annual golf tournament—you play a bigger role than you may realize.

Firefighting is more than emergency response. It’s about being part of the community, looking out for one another, and building something stronger together.

Today, we also take time to honour and remember the firefighters who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Their commitment continues to inspire everything we do.

From all of us at the Durham Firefighters Association—thank you for your trust, your support, and for being part of what makes this community so strong.
