The AUNP has been advised that implementation of the new professional fees and liability insurance reimbursement process has encountered a few unexpected delays. Several required system updates are still being completed, and the Employer has asked employees to hold off on submitting reimbursement claims until implementation is complete, anticipated to be by the end of July 2026.

We are actively monitoring implementation and raising members’ questions with the Employer as they arise. We will advise members as soon as the reimbursement process is fully operational.

Former Employees who terminated on or after April 1, 2024, and prior to May 13, 2026 are entitled to a retroactive payment of the increase to their wages that they would have received but for the termination of their employment.  The deadline to make a written request is no later than July 13, 2026.  The preferred method for submitting such requests is via email to [email protected], with the subject line: AUNP Retroactive Payment Request.

All written requests for retroactive increases should include the following information:
Employee Legal First and Last Name;
Employee ePeople ID number;
Termination Date; and
Phone number in case of a follow-up call.

Employees who prefer to send in such requests for retroactive increases via Canada Post may do so by mailing a letter to:

Note: Former AHS Employees who have transferred to a provincial health agency (for example to Recovery Alberta or Primary Care Alberta) are not required to request payment of retroactive increases as long as they have remained employed with the new provincial health agency as of the date of ratification. 

The process outlined above is the same regardless of which Employer the Employee worked for.

All pay advices and T4s for former Employees will be mailed to the last address we have recorded on file. Please note if the Employee’s mailing address or banking information has changed, it is the Employee’s responsibility to update this by calling the HR Contact Centre.  Bank account and mailing address change requests will not be accepted via email or letter; verification of identity is a required condition to process such changes.

The AUNP is pleased to announce that the second Collective Bargaining Agreement has been officially ratified! Out of a total membership of 578, 92.4% of voting members voted in favour of accepting the agreement - this milestone represents significant progress for our organization and its members.

While this achievement is an important step forward, it is essential to recognize that the bargaining process is ongoing. In approximately 1.5 years, we will return to the bargaining table to address further issues and continue advocating on your behalf. The Executive Board and Bargaining Committee remain dedicated to this process and look forward to working together with members in the future.
