A huge thank you to Maddie and Gerard from the for visiting Bent Arrow to learn more about the programs we offer & the people we serve. Our ever-growing partnership with the Hawks has led us to receive roughly $10,000 in donations through their Indigenous merchandise sales.

We're so thankful for these partnerships as they help us grow in the community and grow our programs to provide the best services we can to everyone in the city.

Good morning, Benties! Happy Tuesday. We had another great medicine picking session hosted by members of the PAC Team alongside the Warriors Way Program.

Participants were able to learn why Buffalo Sage is important within different Indigenous cultures, learned how to harvest it properly and then dry it!

We hope everyone had fun during the day out on the land.🧡

We have a couple more Powwow's on the circuit this summer including a massive event out on the Alexander Frist Nation!

From August 21st-23rd they'll be hosting their Traditional Pow Wow & Market! The market will include arts, crafts, food, jewelry and much more!

Our friends at the Edmonton Neighbourhood Watch will be hosting their Multi-Cultural Festival this Friday, August 21st from 5:30pm-9:30pm at the Airway Park off Kingsway.

The evening will feature the diversity, stories and connections that makes Edmonton a welcoming community for everyone! (Plus free food!)

This is a great opportunity to learn more about your local community and the agencies serving our senior population.

Connect with agencies and exhibitors and gather information on services including healthcare, housing, mental health assistance, family and social supports, and more!

The 2026 Oskayak Police Academy wrapped up at the end of July!

The program is free of charge for self-identified Indigenous youth between Grades 10 to 12 and provides two full weeks of traditional teachings, hands on activities to look at the different side of policing, and much more!

The warm summer months of July and August are widely regarded as the ideal times to venture out for medicine picking, a traditional practice that requires patience, respect, and knowledge. Working Warriors staff and students embarked on a collaborative journey, venturing out onto the land together as a group to harvest an abundance of beautiful medicine.

The group's efforts were rewarded with a bountiful harvest of buffalo sage, renowned for its medicinal properties. Following the harvest, the group gathered and learned about the medicine's unique characteristics, its traditional uses, and how it will be utilized in the future!

We want to share a huge thank you to our friends over at the thealbertarailwaymuseum for their generous donation!

Over mutlipe days, they dedicated all their ticket sales in support of Bent Arrow. They also stopped by for a tour to learn more about the work we do.
