OUR TEAM - WELCOME ANASTASIIA! 🙌💃

Début novembre, Anastasiia a rejoint l'équipe en tant que professeure de français !

Anastasiia est originaire d'Ukraine, a voyagé, vécu et travaillé dans le monde entier, notamment dans plusieurs pays d'Europe, d'Asie du Sud et d'Amérique du Nord. Elle a obtenu son diplôme universitaire en Ukraine et a poursuivi ses études en France. Elle a travaillé avec des groupes d'enfants et d'adultes et a déménagé à Edmonton en 2023. Elle aime la randonnée, le patinage et les promenades avec son chien. 🐶

Nous sommes ravis de l'avoir dans l'équipe, bienvenue Anastasiia !

At the beginning of November, Anastasiia joined the team as a French teacher!

Anastasiia is originally from Ukraine , travelled, lived and worked all over the world, including several countries in Europe, South Asia and North America. She graduated university in Ukraine and continued her studies in France. She has worked with children and adult groups for the past few years. She moved to Edmonton in 2023 and became a part of our team. She likes hiking, skating and going for walks with her dog.🐶

We're delighted to have her in our team, welcome Anastasiia!

WINTER PARTY ❄️

On Saturday 9th, in collaboration with Edmonton's francophone organizations, we participated in the Winter party / Multicultural Christmas at the Cité francophone . On the program: Santa Claus, creative activities in French, including letters to Santa, Christmas choir, market... Children were delighted! Now we're ready for the holidays! 🎄

En collaboration avec les organismes francophones d'Edmonton, nous avons participé à la Fête de l'hiver / Noël multiculturel à la Cité francophone. Au programme : Père Noël, activités créatives en français dont les lettres au Père Noël, chorale de Noël, marché... Les enfants étaient ravis ! Maintenant nous sommes prêts pour célébrer les fêtes de fin d'année ! 🎄

French expression of the day 🤓

"Ne pas être un cadeau" ("Not being a present") 🎁

Gifts are what Father Christmas brings to well-behaved children, something that gives us pleasure when we receive them. However, "Ne pas être un cadeau" means that we don't enjoy seeing someone and/or that a situation is restrictive.🎅

👉Example: We're going to have to put up with Uncle Bertrand's New Year's Eve stories again, that's not a gift!

Les cadeaux, c’est ce que le père Noël apporte aux enfants sages, c’est quelque chose qui nous fait plaisir quand on les reçoit. Cependant, « ne pas être un cadeau » signifie que cela ne nous fait pas plaisir de voir une personne et/ou qu’une situation est contraignante.

👉Exemple : On va encore devoir supporter les histoires de l’oncle Bertrand pour le Réveillon, ce n’est pas un cadeau !
