☀️Sunny weather + exploring Edmonton with other moms? Don’t mind if we do!

The Gianna Centre walking group met for the second time to explore the river valley and identify flowers, learn more about Canada’s ecosystems, and enjoy the beautiful blue skies in between this week’s rain and smoke. It was a wonderful opportunity for our moms and their children to connect with each other and with our beautiful shared outdoors! 🍃

We couldn't do what we do without your support 💛

Thank you to the Knights of Columbus at St. Charles Catholic Parish here in Edmonton for their incredible generosity in donating a whole truckload of diapers, wipes, and other baby essentials to mothers at the Gianna Centre. A special thank you goes to Joseph and Pat for delivering the donations... and carrying everything inside!

We are so grateful to all those who support us materially, financially, or with prayers. We could not do half of what we do without your generous and selfless support. God bless you all!

💛 Thank you, STAR Catholic School Division!

To honour Mary and the mothers we serve at the Gianna Centre, during the month of May students, staff, and families came together in prayer, learning, and support for the moms and families we support.

Through your generosity, 75 families purchased homemade soups, cookie mixes, and fresh herbs, helping create meaningful opportunities for moms in our programs.

Every prayer, every order, and every act of kindness helped strengthen our community and build hope.

Thank you for walking alongside us with compassion, generosity, and faith. Together, we are creating a community where families are supported, valued, and belong. 💛

Over three fascinating sessions, our community had the opportunity to learn from Chef Joseph Forest through lectures, live demonstrations, practical culinary education, and shared conversations around the table.

Clients, volunteers, and staff participated to explore healthy eating, build their confidence in the kitchen, and discover practical and sustainable recipes and skills that support their wellness.

Thank you to Chef Joseph for sharing his expertise and passion, and to everyone who participated in making this program such a success.

At Gianna, we believe that learning creates confidence, food creates connection, and community helps us grow.

What a beautiful evening at the Rose Dinner!

After celebrating the beauty and sanctity of all life at the March for Life, we were so grateful to spend a wonderful evening at the Rose Dinner, where we shared delicious food and wonderful conversations. It was so inspiring to be surrounded by people with the same passion for life and providing opportunity and resources to those who need it most.

Thank you to Melissa Ohden for sharing her incredible story in such a vulnerable and moving way, and thank you to the organisers of this incredible event! We'll see you all again next year ☺️

Last Tuesday we celebrated the feast day of our patron saint, St. Gianna Beretta Molla. We also celebrated National Volunteer Week - a chance to honour the people who continue St. Gianna’s selfless legacy every day.💛

Our volunteers are the heart of our community. Their compassion, generosity, and dedication reflect the very spirit our centre was built on. To all those generous men and women, thank you for walking this mission with us!

Gianna Centre is hiring!

Catholic Social Services is currently seeking a contract full-time, weekly 40 hours, Employment Intake and Assessment Coordinator to join our Community Outreach & Disability Service at the Gianna Centre in Edmonton. We are looking for staff who are client-centered, trauma-informed, patient, engaging, confident, thoughtful, and motivated to achieve success when supporting marginalized mothers to prepare for employment. The contract will end on March 31 2029. Job application closing will occur when a suitable candidate is hired.
