Youth Restorative Action Project YRAP is a pro-active program, by youth for youth, mandated to work in the Provincial Youth Court with young people.

YRAP also runs several youth centred programming designed to empower young people in the community. YRAP is a Youth Justice Committee that is sanctioned to work in Provincial Court with young people who have caused harm as a result of racism, intolerance or significant social issues. It is the only committee worldwide with this unique mandate to be run entirely by youth members (aged 15-24). YRAP performs numerous legal functions including sentencing and extrajudicial sanctions, custody release plans, treatment plans, the supervision of community service and probation orders and mediation. By meeting with the accused and the victim, YRAP devises proactive solutions under the principles of restorative justice designed to be educational and rehabilitative, and address social impairments underlying criminal behaviour. The committee has handled 500 hundred cases, many previously unthinkable under this model, including sexual assault and even homicide.

Mentorship isn’t about knowing everything, it’s about growing together. It’s a chance for mentees to gain guidance and mentors to gain purpose.

When someone invests their time and experience into your development, you gain immense confidence and clarity. At the same time, mentors refine their leadership and strengthen their communication by contributing to someone else’s success.
