Today is National Indigenous Peoples Day!
This day is an opportunity to celebrate the histories, cultures, languages, and vibrancy of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.
At Boyle Street, Indigenous ways of knowing and being help guide who we are and how we work together toward miyo-pimâtisiwin – the good life. National Indigenous Peoples Day is a time for celebration, but also a reminder of our responsibilities as Treaty people to build relationships grounded in respect, reciprocity, and care for one another, the land, the animals, the plants, and the waters.
This past Friday, community members gathered at okimaw peyesew kamik to celebrate with drummers, dancing, face paintings, teachings, and a BBQ. Thank you to everyone who came!
Happy National Indigenous Peoples Day!
