The City would like to give a big shout out to the Elliot Lake XC Ski & Bike Club and all of their hard working members and volunteers. When they're not out enjoying the trails they're out helping keep them in top shape!

The hard work done on the trails by their summer students and their dedicated volunteers help keep the trails beautiful and available for public use. Make sure you get out on the trails and experience the beauty of Elliot Lake yourself and if you see a club member along the way, be sure to stop and say thanks.

These pictures show just a few of the hard working club members and volunteers but the club is always looking for more!

As much as we hate to admit it, Summer is winding down here in Elliot Lake and that means it's almost time to say goodbye to our hard working beach lifeguards. But don't worry, there's still time to squeeze in a few more swims before supervised swimming ends.

The last days for supervised swimming at Elliot Lake Beaches are:
Spine Beach - Sunday, August 30th
Spruce Beach - Monday, September 7th

After these dates lifeguards will no longer be stationed at the beach and any swimming will be done at your own risk. Thank you to everyone that paid us a visit down at the beaches this season. We can't wait to see you all again next summer!

A&W opens its doors in Elliot Lake!

Mayor Andrew Wannan celebrated the grand opening of the Elliot Lake A&W location with owners Mark and Gagan Thursday morning alongside a supportive group of Council members as well as City and A&W staff and excited customers.

“It feels like it’s been a long time in the works, but we are extremely happy to see this new location open.” Said the Mayor. “The place looks beautiful. Congratulations to the whole team!” He added “It’s exciting that the city is able to attract such an iconic national franchise. It demonstrates that Elliot Lake is a strong and growing community.”

Owners Mark and Gagan commented “We are so proud to officially call Elliot Lake home. Getting this location built and opened has been a true labor of love, and we couldn’t have done it without the incredible warmth, patience, and support from this community. Whether you're dining in with family or grabbing a fast meal on the go, we've got you covered, Come for Dine in or swing right through the drive-thru for a classic Teen Burger, hand-battered onion rings, ice-cold Root Beer and many more delicious items! Thank you for welcoming us so warmly, Elliot Lake. We can't wait to see you!"

BOIL WATER ADVISORY
Effective Thursday August 27, 2026

A Boil Water Advisory is being issued for Rogers Arena, 111 Spruce Avenue, 167A & B Spruce Avenue, 169A & B Spruce and the Masonic Lodge

Whenever any kind of repair or construction on the water supply system either planned or an emergency, there is a risk of soil or other contaminants entering the water supply. Although this risk is very low, a Boil Water Advisory (BWA) is issued to all residents, businesses and public facilities located along this area of the water supply system.

In consultation with the Algoma Public Health, the City of Elliot Lake is issuing a boil water advisory for any activity where water may be ingested.

This includes:
• Drinking
• Brushing teeth
• Washing fruits and vegetables
• Drinking water from public drinking fountains in this area.

Please follow these instructions:
• Bring water to a rolling boil
• Continue to boil for at least 1 minute
• Let water cool before using

This Boil Water Advisory will remain in effect until work on the system is complete and microbiological samples confirm the safety of the water. This is a localized problem and only households and businesses in the affected area will receive this notice.

This work will not affect your water service, but we advise that you open each cold tap, one at a time, and let them run for about 20 seconds each. This should release any air trapped in your water lines. If the water is cloudy or contains grit, continue to run the cold water taps until the water runs clear.

If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Public Works Department at (705) 848-2287 ext. 2600
