During the ARIEL AGM held May 26, 2025, the membership voted to dissolve the organization after 17 years. The process of dissolution is underway. The absence of ARIEL does not mean the gallery in the Elliot Lake Arts & Heritage Centre will disappear. Only the organization will. We will announce the new owner of the gallery shortly.

The Elliot Lake Arts and Heritage Centre experienced a malfunction in the HVAC system that caused smoke to fill the building, today, May 26, 2025. As a result no one is permitted in the building until we have been notified it is safe to reenter.
The ARIEL AGM will occur as planned. At this time, we do not know if we have to move the location. That decision will be made around 4 pm this evening. We will inform all members as soon as possible.

Did we tell you about the bunting? One of ARIEL's founders, the late Linda Finn chaired the public art committee of the City of Elliot Lake. One of the committee's projects was the installation of banners on street lamps. Inevitably they fade. The current committee recycled the faded banners into bunting. They worked tirelessly over the past week to create the bunting you see, plus the bunting the City of Elliot Lake strung across Elizabeth Walk for our Grand Opening. There could not have been a more appropriate method of adorning our building. On behalf of all the occupants of the Elliot Lake Arts & Heritage Centre, our deepest thanks.

By the way...the Linda Finn retrospective will leave the ARIEL Arts Space this week. May 16th is the last day for public viewing.
