Our government is taking action to deal with abandoned oil and gas wells before they become a problem.

Great to be in Essex County today to announce that we are increasing our annual investment to nearly $11 million to protect communities from legacy wells. We’re ensuring that municipalities and landowners continue to have the tools they need to keep people safe.

Honoured to attend the Decoration Day service at Riverside Cemetery in New Hamburg yesterday.

A deeply moving ceremony that reminds us why we must never forget those who served and sacrificed for Canada. Originally established in 1961 and proudly reinstated in 2024, this tradition lives on, with a colour guard, cadets, local bands, and a Canadian flag placed on every veteran’s grave.

Forestry is a cornerstone of Ontario's economy, providing over 150,000 good-paying jobs to hardworking people across the province.

As forestry ministers from across Canada meet in British Columbia, I joined Minister Tim Hodgson for the release of the Canadian Forest Sector Transformation Task Force report.

Over the coming days, I look forward to discussing its recommendations and how we can advance the objectives set out in our Roadmap to Protecting Ontario’s Forest Sector to strengthen Ontario’s position as a global leader in forest products.

The Protecting Ontario’s Streets and Communities Act, 2026 builds on our plan to protect Ontario by strengthening public safety and keeping our communities safe. If passed, these measures will:

✅ Protect transit riders by cracking down on illegal drug use on transit
✅ Improve protections for victims of human trafficking
✅ Strengthen oversight of the towing and private security industries
✅ Give law enforcement stronger tools to keep communities safe
