Disaster can strike any time – and everyone has a role to play. Will you Be Ready?

Due to rising fire danger, a fire ban is in effect for the Dehcho on all public + private land through May 24. It may be extended.

That means:

🚫Open fires – not even in barrels or pits
🚫Burn permits – those issued by community or GNWT are cancelled
🚫Sky lanterns or similar
🚫Fireworks
🚫Exploding targets/tracer ammo
🚫Flare-style bear bangers (unless in an active wildlife emergency)
✅ Enclosed propane or briquette BBQs and stoves

Fire used to exercise Indigenous rights is exempt from this ban.

Do your part to keep your community safe – stick to the restrictions.
