The actual hours of the library are as follows:
Tuesday 12 to 4:30
Wednesday 3:30 to 6
Thursday 12 to 5:30

We have changed our hours. Wednesdays we will close at 6:00 PM and Thursdays will be open for an extra hour until 5:30.

Don't forget our Art 4 Kids programming, starting Thursday July 21 at 1:00 PM. The activities will be offered outside the library on our 'lawn' with rain days scheduled for the following Tuesday if necessary. The program will be offered every Thursday until August 11 and is free to kids of all ages.

Hello Everyone in range. This is Mary Hutchings, the latest incarnation of the Erickson District Librarianship. I am in the process of getting comfortable with the (extremely complex) computer system and am enjoying the very social aspect of library life. Please drop in and say hello. We are continuing to display the works of local artists and craftspeople and encourage visitors to our informal space, informally known as the Salamander Gallery. Several weeks ago, a salamander came up the sidewalk to the front door of the library and stayed there for some time before moving off around the building. It seemed like an omen. All for now, I hear children's voices at the door.

The Magic Show is today! Snacks for the kids will be served beforehand, so arrive a bit early. Snacks available for the grown-ups too, by donation. This is a free event, come one and come all! Tell all your friends! The show starts at 5:15pm. Please contact the library if you have any questions.

There are some exciting library events coming up! Thursday at 11 is the Fancy Nancy Tea Party and Storytime, and on Tuesday, August 7 at 5:15 is the much-anticipated MAGIC SHOW with RYAN PRICE! These are free events, with no registration or library card required. Call, email, or message the library if you have any questions.

Tomorrow (Wednesday) at 6:00pm is the Harry Potter Birthday Party Celebration at the Erickson Library! Come celebrate the Boy Who Lived with cake and trivia games. Wear your Hogwarts finery, as I will be wearing mine! This is a free event, no registration or library card required/

Here is the Erickson Library's Summer Program Schedule!

Wednesday July 4- 6:00-7:30pm Teen Board Game Bonanza –For teens in grades 6-12, come to the library for board games, book chats and good times! Snacks will be provided.

Thursday July 5- 11:00-12:00pm Teddy Bear Picnic Storytime. Bring your favourite stuffed buddy for a storytime out on the library’s front lawn.

Thursday July 12 –11:00-12:00pm Hats Storytime. Wear the craziest headwear you can and enjoy stories about hats!

Thursday, July 19- 11:00-12:00pm Food, Glorious Food Storytime. We will be reading stories and singing songs all about food!

Thursday, July 26- 12:00-4:00pm Drop-in DIY Button Making. The library has a button maker. Bring your creativity to design and press your own button!

Wednesday, August-1 6:00-7:00pm-Harry Potter Birthday Party. Come and celebrate the Boy Who Lived’s (slightly belated) birthday! Dress in your wizarding finery and play some magical trivia while eating birthday cake.

Thursday, August 2-11:00-12:00pm Fancy Nancy Tea Party and Storytime. We will be reading Fancy Nancy stories and having a tea party afterwards! Snacks and tea provided.

Tuesday, August 7-5:15-6:00pm Ryan Price Magic Show! The fabulous, magical Ryan Price returns for the third summer. Come see his crazy magic and reading show!

Summer Reading Club will be going all summer long! Simply keep track of all the days you read on your reading record. Pop by the library to get a free reading record for chances to win sweet prizes!
